I had only taken photos for the review and hadn’t been able to upload it, so I’m finally posting it now Surgical consultation and thoughts after surgery Surgery performed in 2025.05.xx They pursue an extremely natural look: a sense of improvement where you’ve clearly become prettier or more handsome somehow, but people can’t tell what changed. The consultant was kind and good at consultations. She first asked what exactly I was dissatisfied with about my nose and what I wanted to improve, then recommended an appropriate alar reduction method tailored to each person’s nose shape. In my case, my nasal alae were quite droopy, so they recommended alar base/alar rim lifting excision surgery to raise the alae, basic reduction of the horizontal width of the nostril wings, and correction of alar curvature, each at 1.2 million KRW, so the base total was 3.6 million KRW. Since I didn’t have much columella, making my nose look more spread out, they also recommended artificial dermis for the columella. It’s inserted into the columellar area of the nose, and they said it was safe enough that even doctors get it, so I went ahead with it. They said there is a small chance of inflammation, but that it’s like the chance of blindness from filler. It’s hard for any surgery to have absolutely zero risk of side effects. First of all, I liked that the director seemed to take pride in his surgery. He said this is the only place in Korea that performs surgery this way. Other famous alar reduction clinics simply focus only on reducing the horizontal width of the nostril wings. One month after surgery Even at one month, I still couldn’t do things like touch my nostril wings a lot with my hands or pick my nose. If I did, there was pain, and the nostril wings were still settling after surgery, so they felt stiff. There was no problem with daily life, and the scars had healed a lot, so they were not very noticeable. I started drinking alcohol after about 3 weeks. There was still a little swelling, but compared to my previous nose, the broad, spread-out feeling was gone, and I felt like my appearance had improved, so I was completely satisfied. Personally, I recommend reducing as much as possible within a reasonable range, because it looks better aesthetically. I do feel a bit regretful that I should have reduced it just a little more.. I actually think I liked it best around week 2? Since as the swelling goes down, the nostrils do get a bit wider. Still, compared to my previous nose, I’m completely satisfied, and I like that it’s becoming more and more natural.
