Shopping Around for Eye Revision Surgery

*My current condition* I had surgery with the incisional method about 10 years ago. Looking at it now, my eyes were not the kind that necessarily needed the incisional method. But at the time, I did not know much about cosmetic surgery, and I had it done at a clinic that recommended the incisional method, saying there would be no concern about the double eyelid coming undone and that I had slight ptosis, so ptosis correction could also be done. During the surgery, the doctor said he was adjusting the left-right balance and performed epicanthoplasty only on my left eye, then charged an additional 100,000 won. After the surgery, the lacrimal caruncle of my left eye was exposed a lot, so every time I took photos my eye did not look pretty and even looked a bit scary, which stressed me out. People around me said it looked fine and there was no problem, so I just lived with it. Then around 2 years ago, I had restoration done at a clinic specializing in epicanthoplasty restoration. While doing the epicanthoplasty restoration, they set the line once only on my left eye, so the double eyelid lines on both eyes became uneven. Since the double eyelid line was set low to begin with, it looks more or less natural in the mirror, but in photos the uneven lines are very noticeable, so it bothered me.

Since it was revision surgery, I thought I should be careful, so I went to a total of 7 clinics, 2 to 3 clinics per day.

◆ㅁㅂ Recommended buried natural adhesion method On the first day of consultations, among the 3 clinics I visited, this was the only one that recommended the buried method, and the director and consultant were kind and the atmosphere seemed good, so I was tempted. But it bothered me that ㅇㅇㄴㅋ, a clinic specializing in eye surgery, did not recommend revision surgery, so I decided to look into other clinics too.

◆ㅈㄷ Recommended buried method

◆ㅇㄹㅈ They said they could do an incision only on the right eye to match the line with the left eye, but there probably would not be much difference before and after surgery.

◆ㄱㅇㅈ Did not recommend eye revision surgery. Instead, recommended cheek filler and jaw Botox.

◆ㅋㄹ, ㄱㅇ, ㅇㅇㄴㅋ Did not recommend eye revision surgery.

Among the 7 clinics, as many as 4 did not recommend eye revision surgery, so I decided not to do revision surgery. Even now, sometimes I am tempted by the thought, What if I had eye revision surgery at the clinic that recommended the buried method? If I raise the low double eyelid line and make the uneven lines match, wouldn’t I look much prettier than now? But they say that as you age, sagging skin will bury the double eyelid line anyway and a time will come when revision surgery is needed, so I plan to wait until more time has passed before doing it.
