Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

Satisfied with IVRO bimaxillary surgery + 3 types of facial contouringㅠㅠ (3 months post-op)

It’s already been 3 months since I had bimaxillary surgery at Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. hahaha Before surgery, I had severe facial asymmetry since I was young, so it was always stressfulㅜ  I went to several orthodontic clinics too, but they said it would be difficult to improve with orthodontic treatment alone, so I ultimately decided to have bimaxillary surgery. While looking up reviews of Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on YouTube and online communities, I found a case similar to mine and went in for a consultation. The director explained everything really honestly and pointed out exactly what was needed, so I felt I could trust them!! I also liked that the hospital facilities were clean and that the inpatient rooms were private rooms, and I trusted them even more because guardians can watch the surgery through CCTV!  I had pre-surgical orthodontic treatment for about 6 months, and because my temporomandibular joints weren’t good, I had bimaxillary surgery using the IVRO method. I also had 3 types of facial contouring surgery (cheekbones, square jaw, and chin) together!! I think I was really nervous on the day of surgery lol I couldn’t sleep at all the night before and went to the hospital, but when I came to, the surgery was already over. For the first day, the anesthesia hadn’t fully worn off, so I was out of it, and because of intermaxillary fixation, even drinking water was hard. Breathing was uncomfortable too, so I barely slept at night, but the nurses kept coming by to take care of me, so I was able to get through it haha From the second day, I could walk little by little and also received swelling laser treatment. My nose was still blocked and I was producing a lot of saliva, so it was difficult, but just being able to sit up felt like hope in itself. When I was discharged on the third day, the swelling was still severe, but my breathing had improved a little, so I felt much more comfortable. The powdered medicine I got from the pharmacy tasted really awful, so it was hard to take at first, but I mixed it with tangerine juice and forced myself to swallow it. I had to drink several packs of New Care a day, but at first even one pack was too much. Still, as time passed, I gradually improved, and walking little by little also sped up my recovery! At one week, I went to the hospital and had the stitches near my cheekbones removed, and it didn’t hurt at all. I still could only have liquid foods, but I was so sick of only having New Care that I mixed in things like cold noodle broth or protein drinks. In the second week, the stitches inside my mouth and the elastics were removed, and I started moving my mouth for the first time. It was so scary that it felt like my jaw might come out of place. Still, after practicing little by little, I got used to it quickly. I became able to eat soft foods like bread, porridge, and steamed eggs, so I was really happy. Around week 4, I had a follow-up check at the hospital, and my asymmetry had improved a lot. Before, when I took photos, my jaw looked tilted to one side, but now the front view looks much more natural and my facial contour has become cleaner. The director said we should restart orthodontic treatment, so from then on I started wearing braces again and am adjusting my bite. I also practiced chewing little by little, and I could eat almost all soft foods. And now, 3 months after surgery, at first I couldn’t even imagine eating something like tteokbokki, but now if I cut it into small pieces, there’s no problem at all. My chewing strength has come back a lot, and my bite is gradually stabilizing too. The swelling hasn’t completely gone down yet, but people around me keep telling me my face has become much smaller, so I feel good. Every time I look in the mirror and compare myself to how I looked before, I really think I made the right decision having surgery. Now it doesn’t feel awkward to go out without a mask, and thanks to my natural jawline, I feel much more confident when taking photos too. The early stage after surgery was really hard, but as time passes, I’m forgetting all of it. I think I’ll look even prettier once the swelling fully goes down, and I’m already satisfied enough as it is. If anyone is considering bimaxillary surgery, I really want to recommend Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Thanks to their thorough care and detailed explanations, even now, 3 months later, I’m living without regrets and feeling satisfied!!
