First of all, I have a short nose, the silicone has calcified, and my nose is prone to inflammation, so I decided to remove the silicone. They said they would use autologous costal cartilage, and use ear cartilage for the nostrils and nasal bridge. Would that be okay?? Looking around this community, what is autologous dermis?
세시미 I haven’t used ear cartilage, so I don’t knowww (4th revision rhinoplasty for my nose) I think autologous dermis is usually used when the nasal tip skin is too thin or when you want to be a little more ambitious with the height. Literally, they take your own dermis and layer it over areas that are lacking. Naturally
제니78 As someone who had chin augmentation surgery with autologous dermis.. lol Based on what I was told, let me pretend I know a little.. Simply put, it’s my own skin tissue! They said it has almost no rejection reaction, side effects, or foreign-body sensation, and it’s good for adding height or volume, so it’s used for revision rhinoplasty, nasolabial folds, chin deficiency, and places like that. The downsides are the absorption rate and that a buttock scar remains, but it seemed like specialized clinics compensate for those downsides as much as possible by predicting the absorption rate, doing ultrasound exams at each follow-up and retouching, plus scar injections and fractional laser for scars. That’s about all I know.
