During my first nose surgery, I only thought about height and knew nothing about the structure or cartilage condition. As time passed, my nasal tip drooped and breathing became uncomfortable, so I eventually decided on reconstructive surgery. During the consultation, the doctor carefully examined my previous condition and said the silicone implant on the nasal bridge needed to be removed and the nose rebuilt with autologous cartilage. The surgery took a long time, but as soon as it was over, I could feel that my nasal tip was firm and stable. There was some swelling at first, but after 2 weeks it looked much more natural. More than anything, I’m most moved by how much easier it is to breathe. Before, I regretted it every time I looked in the mirror, but now I feel, ‘This is my face.’ If you’re considering revision surgery, don’t be scared; the answer is to have it accurately corrected again at a place that is truly skilled.
