A review of the second revision rhinoplasty I decided to go through with 8 years ago, when I didn’t know anything, I had my first surgery at a cheap place, choosing only by price without doing any online or in-person research. At the time I liked it, but I felt like the bulbous nose correction hadn’t worked as much as I expected, and maybe because only septal cartilage was used, I kept feeling like my nasal tip was drooping. So while looking into revision surgery, I visited several hospitals that could do both functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty. Thinking, in my own delusion, that I must not have liked the first hospital because it was newly opened, I decided to have surgery at a very large hospital using donated costal cartilage. At first, the functional rhinoplasty seemed to have gone well too, and the drooping of my nasal tip seemed to have improved a lot, but after about 2 years, the nasal tip started drooping the same way again.. Every time I said I wanted nose surgery, people around me tried to stop me, asking why I would do it, but those who know will know. No matter what anyone says, you only see the flaws and it gets to you mentally.. For about a year, I worked really hard doing online research, and among an acquaintance of a coworker I work with, there was someone whose nose shape was so pretty, so I asked if they could ask which hospital it was. The hospital they told me was also already on my research list, so that was the hospital I wanted to have surgery at the most. First, my criteria were that there should be no more than two directors, the hospital should have been open for at least several years, and it should be more famous for revision surgery. Since I also needed to go for in-person consultations, I set a date and went to Seoul for consultations. As a result, all the directors pointed out the exact same problems with my nose. There is no columella, the nasal bridge starting point is too high, and the nasal tip drooping is severe, so the midface looks long and it looks like a masculine nose. At two hospitals, they said I had a “dragon nose” and needed nostril lowering, and overall I liked all the consultations. At the hospital I had most in mind, they very delicately and kindly explained that if the nasal tip was raised, it would not look like a dragon nose and they could make it into a feminine nose, so I booked it right away that same day and had surgery a week later! It’s been about a month and a half now, and I think there is still some swelling left at the nasal tip, but the flaws have been corrected so well that people around me say they regret telling me not to get my nose done, and the nose shape is pretty too, so I’m very satisfied!
