This was a site I used to visit often and browse in my 20s, when I was very interested in plastic surgery, and I logged in again after a really long time. It was already a post I wrote 7 years ago, but when I saw that there were still messages in my inbox asking for hospital information, it made me feel bad, thinking there are still so many people suffering from side effects of rhinoplasty.. After removing the nasal silicone, my interest in plastic surgery gradually disappeared, so I had even forgotten that I myself had undergone surgery to remove a nasal implant, and I had forgotten this place too.
The hospital where I had my first rhinoplasty back then has now completely disappeared.. At that time, the director there kept saying he would remove it after waiting 6 months, but if I had actually spent those 6 months like that, the silicone could have adhered to my tissue, and things might have become even more irreversible. My nose is deviated to the left. So from the right side, my nose looks straight in profile, but from the left side, there is a slight hump-like look. They did not correct this deviated nose and just shaved it down and inserted silicone, so my crooked nose stood out even more, and it did not match my baby-like facial image; they made a bluntly high nose.. I suffered a lot emotionally at the time, but fortunately, at the hospital I found after searching blindly, I was able to have it completely removed.
The reason I, someone who finds it bothersome to write such a long post or even take and upload photos, am posting here again is because I hope even just one person can end the same worries and painful time from rhinoplasty side effects that I went through and find peace of mind again.. I don't think I'm allowed to reveal the hospital initials or name in the post, but if you want the information, I'll let you know in the comments. I have no profit-based or compensatory relationship whatsoever with that hospital; I simply thought of my past self when I was struggling, and I am sharing the information purely in the hope that anyone who needs removal surgery can receive it well. Because I was hurt so much by brokers and was a case where my first hospital botched my rhinoplasty, it hurts me if people see this post and ask me, Are you a broker? Is this an ad?.. Also, everyone's nose condition is different, so I hope you will not rely only on the information I give, but also look into many other hospitals before deciding.
The two photos at the very top show the current condition of my nose, taken today, 7 years after silicone removal surgery. I originally had a hump nose, so the bridge next to my eyes is sunken and low, and below that it was originally higher in shape. These are photos with no retouching at all. And I am living well without any side effects. When I first had rhinoplasty, every time I washed my face, I felt the shock and suffocation of touching the rock-hard septum, so it feels so relieving to be free of that. During the short 26 days from rhinoplasty until removal, when I tossed and turned a little while sleeping and my nose touched something, I would wake up startled.. If it got caught wrong while putting on clothes, I would scream Ah!! Thinking back to washing my face by only gently splashing water, it was a nightmare..ㅠㅠ While playing with my nephew/niece, they lightly brushed my nose with a toy, and I remember being startled out of my skin... Now I am happy that this is my nose, where I can twist it freely when blowing my nose, pat it firmly without worrying when doing makeup, and press it up into a piggy nose with my finger as much as I want. It is not as pretty as a celebrity nose.. but I plan to live loving my low, soft nose :)
