<Before surgery><Day 3><1 month><2 months>I just had ordinary monolid eyes, but since my eyes weren’t extremely small, I didn’t have double eyelid surgery in mind from the beginning. They were just okay to live with, I guess? But at some point, my eyelashes kept poking my eyes, and because my eyes kept watering, my makeup would smudge too... It was so stressful. I went to an ophthalmology clinic, and they said my eyes needed surgery for entropion. Since I had to get eye surgery anyway, I thought it might be okay to be a little greedy? and get double eyelid surgery too, so I started going around for consultations at plastic surgery clinics that could also handle entropion. I narrowed down my list quite a bit and went for consultations, but setting everything else aside, I was drawn to the place where the director examined my eyes in the most detailed way. Usually when you go for a double eyelid consultation, they just set the line and that’s it, right? But I only wanted a line to be created on my current eyes; I didn’t want them to become burdensomely bigger. They didn’t add excessive recommendations beyond what I wanted, and we decided to make the line an inline crease so it would look natural. Also, the director said that for my eyes, rather than only doing entropion surgery, I would need a slight epicanthoplasty too for the eye-poking symptoms to go away..?? This was something I really hadn’t heard at the ophthalmology clinic, so that was the part where I thought I was glad I came to this place. But honestly, on day 3 after surgery, I did regret it a bit The line looked higher than I expected, and there was swelling too... Looking at it now, it’s kind of funny that I made such a fuss over that much (People here who’ve had plastic surgery will know, the appearance obsession right at the very beginning after surgery) Still, since they were my own eyes, I couldn’t help but be even more bothered by how they looked. Even after a few weeks, some days the swelling would suddenly rise, and other days it would suddenly go down, so I was seriously wondering what was going on with the line When I asked the director during my follow-up check, they said it would stabilize after about another month, so since I’d already had the surgery, I waited with the mindset that I should just wait it out. And after a month passed, I could see it gradually stabilizing. The swelling went down completely, and even in the morning my eyes didn’t feel like they looked too much? Since I also had ptosis correction, opening and closing my eyes became more comfortable, and I think I’m most satisfied that my eyes settled in naturally. Everyone in the early stages after double eyelid surgery, don’t get too discouraged because of swelling, and try to hold out for at least one or two months.
