Eye Surgery Considerations

Review from a community

This was also maybe about 5 years ago... I got it done back then, and for now it’s maintained well without going back or anything afterward. When I had the doctor consultation, they said my eyes were the type that couldn’t be opened up much, so I accepted that. I did ask them to widen them even a little. The doctor was honest. After surgery, they sutured with transparent stitches, so the stitches weren’t visible, but I had a slight bruise under my eye, so was it possible to return to daily life right away? Not really. I rested for maybe 3 days and went to work, and I could feel people around me looking like, what is it? Nothing changed, but why is there a bruise? As a result, hmm, they did get longer than before, but one eye has a slightly different outer corner shape, so I can’t say I’m 100% satisfied... That said, it’s not a ㄷ-shape and it’s not pointy either, but.... I don’t think revision surgery for this would be quite right, so I’m just living with it more or less (only I know, no one else knows). When I smile, the very end of the outer corner of my eye feels indented, so I wonder if it’s because of the lateral canthoplasty, but what can I do, it’s already done.... It does make the eyes longer, but unless your eyes are really narrow, I’d like to advise against lateral canthoplasty.
