About 4 years ago, I had a three-part facial contouring surgery at another hospital, and I didn’t really plan on getting the plates removed. But after getting an X-ray at the dentist and becoming aware that there were plates in my face, I found myself constantly touching the sideburn area and the tip of my chin. As I kept touching them, I could feel a slight step-off, and once it started bothering me, I felt like it would keep bothering me, so I looked into removal surgery. I liked The Standard of Facial Contouring clinic because they specialize only in facial contouring, and I was happy with both the reviews and the cost, so I made a reservation and had the surgery. Since I live outside Seoul, it was hard to visit multiple times, so I paid a deposit, scheduled the surgery date, visited for a consultation, and then had the surgery. The doctor seemed very professional, so I trusted him, and the staff were also kind. After surgery, I recovered for about an hour, and the pain was manageable enough for me to take public transportation home by myself. I’m the type who bruises easily and stays swollen for a long time, so I was worried, but the major swelling lasted about a week..? The bruising lasted about 2 weeks. After that, it felt like my original face had returned. One week after surgery, I visited to have the stitches removed from the sideburn area, and they used dissolvable stitches inside my mouth, so I only had to visit once in total after surgery. The scar is still visible, but it doesn’t stand out much, so it doesn’t really bother me. Since I only had the plates removed, there isn’t a major change in appearance, but I feel refreshed ㅠ I wish I had done it sooner. Now I feel like I can comfortably get dermatology treatments and facial massages, so I’m very satisfied!
