First of all, I had the surgery at a hospital in Myeongdong. You know that one, right? It was famous in the community, and it has a two-syllable name.. A hospital named after the director.. When I first went in for the consultation, what the director said shocked me so much. He said I had a jaw so huge that it’s rarely seen in Korean women... that I was a patient they might see only once a month or once every few months;; He said he was very excited to see the results. After hearing that, I burst out laughing with the friend who came with me to the consultation; I didn’t know whether I should be happy or cry.. It doesn’t seem that bad to me though ㅠㅠ Anyway, I ended up doing it because the price was way cheaper than I expected..(It was also reviewed as a decent hospital in the community) I had square-jaw surgery and a cortical bone? resection. The nurse said, “Take a deep breath,” and gave me the shot, and I lost consciousness from that one injection. When I woke up, I was in the recovery room. I’m a bit heavy, so it’s still a mystery how they moved me.. When I heard the nurse say, “Patient, the surgery is over. Please wake up,” my eyes snapped open? Other people were still... in anesthesia, muttering strange things and not waking up, but I just came to all at once;; The hardest thing after surgery is that the phlegm and runny nose are so bad, but I can’t just spit them out as I want.. Right after the surgery, I felt nauseous and felt like vomiting.. Not just me, but everyone else in the recovery room too.. so I threw up once ㅠㅠ phlegm and.. a green, sticky substance..ㄷㄷㄷ At night I woke up once every two hours and hardly slept at all. When I got up, I felt dizzy, so I mostly just lay there. Still, after sleeping one night, walking around got a little better and the dizziness eased a bit.. I think I’m pretty good at enduring pain, though. I only got one shot of painkiller.. A person next to me blew their nose loudly, and the nurse got startled and told them not to blow their nose or they’d get bleeding and bruising. But that person was still acting up and making a fuss ㅠㅠ Those of you who are going to have surgery, please listen to the nurses.... Oh, and the hardest thing for me during square-jaw surgery was having the blood suction tube removed! It’s not like I could actually feel pain or anything...... Ah ㅠㅠ Even now just thinking about it gives me chills.. I really never want to experience that again ㅠㅠ It felt like scraping the inside of the bone with a sharp hook?! ; I’m still not sure about the swelling. Is it called the tightening band? They’ve compressed it so much with that that it’s hard to see, but since it looks the same right after surgery and now, maybe I’m the type who didn’t swell much.. The nurses were generally kind too, and for now I’m just most moved that I survived and didn’t die.. I was so worried before surgery that it really weighed on me.. Before surgery, my complex about it was extremely bad.. People around me always said I had an intimidating vibe;; Even when I was getting my hair done at the salon, I was just sitting there expressionless, and they’d ask, “Do you not like it? Are you tired?” and stuff like that;; ㅠㅠ I don’t know what I’ll look like when the bandage comes off, but I’m a little excited. My writing was really all over the place, right? ㅠㅠ I wrote it in a rush.. Still, as far as I know, I’ll tell you as much as I can. Please leave a message or comment~
