3-Month Review After Double-Jaw and Facial Contouring Surgery

Hello I’m writing a 3-month review after undergoing double-jaw surgery and two types of facial contouring surgery (square jaw + chin) without presurgical orthodontic treatment. Ever since I first went to an orthodontic clinic before entering elementary school, I was told I was a surgical case. Since I was young, I had severe malocclusion, asymmetry, and a protruding lower jaw, so I avoided being photographed and always had a complex about my jaw. At some point, because of my misaligned bite, my front teeth kept chipping, so I decided to have surgery. To be honest, before and after surgery are not that different yet. Since I had surgery without presurgical orthodontic treatment, my bite still does not align well, and I still have slight discomfort when chewing. I had surgery on June 9 at Y Oral. As for swelling, I thought most of it had already gone down at one month, but when the clinic compared my one-month photos, I realized that a lot really had gone down. I developed a little fat under my jaw, but it has decreased a lot compared with the one-month mark. It is just about the level of an ordinary person’s double chin. They said more swelling will go down from now on, so I’m looking forward to it. I am still recovering, but one thing I can say for sure is that my self-esteem and confidence have improved a lot. People say others do not care that much about your appearance, whatever you look like, but whenever I stood in front of others, I would always feel intimidated and timid. Now I feel confident even without covering my jaw, and these days, wherever I go, I often hear people around me say I look pretty. Recently, I also started exercising again, and I have adapted to orthodontic treatment, so I am doing most of the activities I used to do before surgery again. That is my impression at the 3-month mark! I am not forcing anyone to get surgery no matter what, but for people who, like me, have considered it a complex for more than 20 years, I think it is a surgery worth considering. I hope you make a wise choice, and I will end my review here.

This review is a surgical review pursuing a natural yet refined look.
