I had a cheek augmentation surgery yesterday

I live abroad, so while I was briefly in Korea, I looked into getting cheek augmentation surgery. Actually, I had thought about getting double eyelid surgery before, and I even uploaded photos here, but my husband opposed it, everyone opposed it, and... I was scared too, so I couldn’t bring myself to do it. But starting this year, the area beside my nose looked sunken and it kept bothering me. Every time I looked in the mirror, that spot was all I could see, so I started looking into cheek augmentation surgery. But there really wasn’t much information, and until the day before surgery I scoured the internet like crazy, even signed up at a certain plastic surgery site to look for information.. Anyway, my 마음 kept wavering... I even dreamed about having the surgery... Then because I didn’t have time, I booked the consultation and surgery by phone at the same time. My parents’ home is in Gyeonggi, and since I had no time, if I wanted to leave the country without my husband noticing, I really needed to do it at least a week in advance. I found the clinic by searching the internet... As for my criteria, it was... rather than a hospital that does everything, I wanted one that seemed to do cheek augmentation a lot... while looking for a hospital that was good at cheek augmentation... well, at least according to the nurse, they said they’re the best in Korea at cheek augmentation... it’s the pride of their clinic... and I also looked at whether there were many cheek augmentation consultations on the consultation board, and other things, and picked one hospital and just decided on it. When I asked by phone, the nurse’s answer was very brief, saying the swelling would go down in 2 to 3 days, there would be no visible signs, and I absolutely didn’t need to worry. I didn’t really believe it, but anyway... I decided to go through with it. The surgery itself, including anesthesia, took 30 minutes... and the actual surgery time was about 10 minutes? I was under sedation, so it was nothing at all... compared to the several days I’d been losing sleep because I was so nervous, it was really simple. According to my internet search before surgery, cheek augmentation surgery was, first, something most people later remove. Second, even if you do it, there’s no visible change. Third, it’s not worth the price for the effect... All that left me feeling unsettled. When I spoke with the doctor, he said that while it may not be visible, if you compare photos, you can see it. That’s why they take photos. It’s not about becoming prettier... it makes you look younger... more refined... (isn’t that basically the same thing?) I asked about everything I had found online, and he answered with so much confidence... Anyway, I went ahead and did it. Gore-Tex, 5 mm.. Even while resting in the recovery room after surgery and getting an injection, I felt nothing unusual.. One unusual thing was that they put flesh-colored tape on my nose in a way that looked like they were clamping it tightly with a clothespin. They said that if you keep it like this while it heals, the nose won’t flatten and may even look better. And even more unusual was the tape with a sponge in a T shape, placed tightly around the nose... the T was rotated 90 degrees to the left, so it was attached in a U shape that fit the nostrils exactly. They said it helps control swelling, but it was only barely hidden by my mask. This got long as I was writing... But what I really wanted to say is... I heard cheek augmentation swelling is supposed to be no joke. I barely have any swelling. When I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror right away, the swelling was even less than yesterday, so I was hugely surprised. Because of the sponge I can’t see the surgery area well, so I’m starting to worry. I’m wondering whether it was actually done properly... whether it will show any effect... whether I should have gone with 8 mm instead... My face usually swells easily, but I really have almost no swelling, and yesterday my cheek was only a little puffy like after eating candy, which was cute, but today my sensation has all come back. I’m eating rice that’s been pressed down, and I’m also eating kimchi... I’m eating everything. My mouth doesn’t feel uncomfortable either, but whenever I keep chewing, food gets caught in the stitched area inside my upper lip, so I end up eating pressed rice. If I run my tongue over the stitched area, I can feel the thread on both sides. It doesn’t hurt and I can move my mouth normally... I have no swelling, but... honestly, after reading reviews, I’m worried because I don’t see anyone like me. My father says it’s because my skin is good... and my skin is good too. Before surgery, the doctor asked whether I had washed my face, and when I said yes, he said, ah, you have good skin. Anyway, I’ll leave another update after I see how it goes.
