I had rhinoplasty last week at a clinic with 30 years of experience, introduced by someone my mother knows. I worried a lot and was very concerned, but I tried to think positively.. Finally, I removed the tape on my nose and looked in the mirror, and the nasal tip was lower than the nasal dorsum; on top of that, the tip even looked droopy... Still, since there was still a lot of swelling, I thought it would get better with time, so today I went to the clinic to have the stitches removed and asked the nurse and the director. At first, the nurse said my nose shape was okay now, and that originally, the base has to be well set for the nose shape to come out pretty, but because my nose had been so low, this was a good result too. As I listened to that, I suddenly felt so upset that tears started pouring out; before I even had time to control it.. The nurse told me to talk to the director, so my mother asked the director whether the current nose shape didn’t look a bit like a hump nose, with the nasal tip drooping, and the director got angry and snapped, asking why everyone was so greedy, saying it was enough if it was better than the original nose, and did we think just anyone could get a celebrity nose. My mother also got upset and said, who asked you to make it like a celebrity nose, and if you had just explained nicely, why are you getting angry instead? Then the director flared up, said something, and unable to control his anger, even threw his glasses onto the floor before going into the director’s office... Afterward, the nurse had quite a hard time calming my mother and me down; In the end, we left after hearing the nurse say to check again after 6 months, and if I wanted the nasal tip raised a bit more then, they would add more. Hahaha.. Living this long, this is the first time I’ve been treated this rudely. Did I ask for my money back, did I ask for revision surgery? I was worried and just wanted to hear what the director had to say, and I was curious whether, after the swelling went down, the current hump-nose-like appearance would go away, so I asked. No matter how much I think about it, I can’t understand why he got so angry. No matter how skilled or famous a clinic is, I think the most important thing is trust between the doctor and the patient. Now that that has collapsed, even if they offer revision surgery, I never want to go there again. I hope everyone also talks thoroughly with the doctor before surgery and makes a wise decision.
