The director is not exactly the very gentle, warmly spoken type. Should I say they looked extremely tired and worn out..? And they do speak quite directly. So I think there are some opinions saying they are unfriendly, but I didn’t feel they were unfriendly; rather, I liked that they explained things clearly.
It was my first surgery and only the nasal tip, but the cost was over 1 million won more expensive than the other clinics I had visited, so I debated until the very end. I decided to do it at Mint for the following three reasons.
1. Pursuit of safety - The director is known for pursuing safety, and when I went, they also spoke conservatively. They clearly explained the limitations too. - They also told me that my nose is not suitable for osteotomy. I had not heard this at other clinics, but it felt trustworthy and actually made them seem more professional.
2. The director’s aesthetic sense matches mine well - I really hate pointed noses and I dislike dramatic styles. They also don’t suit my face. - To be hoooneeest... there are reviews saying it is too natural, and actually, when I look at the before-and-after photos on the clinic website, there are some photos that even I think are veeeery natural. But because the director clearly explains the surgical limitations, I thought this could be predicted to some extent in advance, and if you clearly explain your needs during the consultation, they seem to match them within a safe range. - Anyway, I really, really hate anything that looks obvious, and when I looked at reviews and after photos, I generally liked the shape.
3. An ethical feeling - The after-service period is longer than at other clinics; reviews say the director actually becomes kinder from the operating room onward than during the consultation; reliable aftercare; honesty in saying no to what cannot be done; and lastly, absolutely no review discount event. For the reasons above, I got a much more ethical impression than from other clinics. Especially in some reviews, there were quite a few cases where they willingly responded to after-service requests. The director seemed responsible, so I felt I could trust them with it.
Hmm, if I write only up to here, I may look like a broker, so I’ll write the downsides too. 1. The director looks very tired - This part made me somewhat quietly worried. Would they operate on me while looking that tired..? I had thoughts like that. And because they looked tired, I felt cautious about asking too many detailed questions. Of course, when I did ask, they answered well, but anyway, it was not comfortable.
2. They do not ask first during the consultation - Rather than the nose shape I want, they focus exactly on how and to what extent my shortcomings can be improved. I also didn’t express it first, but for people who have a clear desired shape, this part may not be a good fit. I had saved celebrity photos and thought hard about what shape would be good, but there was not really a chance to talk about it during the consultation. They lifted my nose with a cotton swab and roughly showed me that it would feel like this, but just seeing that didn’t give me a clear sense... - However! I think this may be because there is time to check during surgery, so they may not ask separately. Standards like dramatic, high, or rounded differ from person to person, so I thought seeing it directly is most accurate rather than describing it in words. During surgery, there is time to check the nose shape and ask whether you want it higher, whether you prefer a more rounded feeling, what you think of the angle, what you think of the nasal tip shape, and so on. Maybe because of this, they ask less during consultation. - For people who know exactly what they want, I think it would be good to say first, even if the director does not ask: I like this! I dislike this!
3. Estimate It is so expensive... I used only septal cartilage, did only the nasal tip, and it was my first surgery, but it was in the high 4 million won range... I think the cost is the biggest downside.
4. Non-sedated They perform local anesthesia on the nose while you are under sedation for about 10 minutes, and the surgery itself is done while you are awake. This process is not painful, but it is not pleasant either. It is closer to unpleasant, actually. Honestly, I was very scared before surgery Fortunately, contrary to my worries, it did not hurt, so it was more tolerable than I expected. But this also seems like an advantage.. There is no worry about proxy surgery, and anesthesia is not good for the body...
When I checked the shape during surgery, I liked it more than I expected. I had worried there might not be much difference from before, but that wasn’t the case either.
The staff are kind, aftercare is good with the director checking progress personally, and they really are kinder in the operating room. So far, I do not regret doing it here. I removed the splint, and I’m satisfied with the shape! I’ll know after more swelling goes down, but if the nasal tip lowers just a little from now, it would be perfect~~ I’m satisfied~
