<Before surgery><Before surgery><Day of surgery>This is my 4-month review after double-jaw surgery and while undergoing orthodontic treatment. I worried and thought about my facial asymmetry for about 10 years, and in the end, I was told that double-jaw surgery was the only answer, so I decided to have the surgery. Because of that, I was very thorough from the hospital selection stage and visited many places in person. For me, it was important not only that the surgeon had extensive surgical experience, but also whether they provided kind, attentive 1:1 care. Because I had a bad experience being hospitalized at a university hospital before, I think I ended up choosing a private hospital that specializes in double-jaw surgery. Surgery, and then orthodontic treatment afterward (still ongoing)... It was not an easy choice or process, but after enduring that time, I now really enjoy having photos taken, and I’m satisfied I always used to want photos taken only from the left side of my face, but now I look good from any angle, so I’m very satisfied. Especially because I gained more confidence, I feel like I really made the right choice having the surgery, and I’m so happy thinking I won’t have to be stressed about asymmetry anymore I felt grateful to the director. The major swelling has all gone down, but including the minor swelling, I think it will still take about 8 more months for all the swelling to completely subside.. I’m also going to have pin removal surgery.. so there’s still some hardship ahead.. but after going through it once, I’m not scared. Double-jaw surgery.. Now that it’s over, I realize it’s not a simple surgery, so I think it’s important to make the decision while considering the entire after-process too. I’ll be cheering for everyone to make a choice they won’t regret.
