Non-open rhinoplasty, first nose surgery consultation review

After thinking about rhinoplasty for 10 years, to commemorate leaving my job, I looked around here and there, went to consultations, and made a reservation Originally, I mainly looked into non-open + no implant ** I didn’t want silicone, but everyone recommended silicone I didn’t want a large hospital, so I looked for clinics with one head doctor Before going to consultations, I looked through every review one by one to see if it matched the look I wanted I have the triple combo of a short nose, low nose, and bulbous nose I have a history of Venus Nose (Hiko) from 3-4 years ago Filler ❌❌ I still have some unlimited thread sessions left --- 1. ㅇㅆ Honestly, what made me decide on rhinoplasty was this clinic’s Shorts video It seemed somewhere between natural and naturally fancy, and I thought the aesthetic was similar to what I wanted! Honestly, I was planning to only get a consultation here and book, so I went here first • Consultation review It’s right in front of Gangnam Station, and the clinic was clean. I went in right away with no waiting The consultant was kind, and the doctor was just as friendly as he seemed in the Shorts But they said non-open was not possible and that open would probably be better They said because of the threads, my nasal tip is firm from scar tissue, so it would be difficult They said non-open with no implant is possible too, but I probably wouldn’t be satisfied And I got the sense that they really dislike procedures like Hiko (It felt like, “Why did you do this..?” I got the impression my nose was really hopeless) They said they might wake me up during the surgery to check things in between Other people liked that, but as someone who is a total scaredy-cat, I didn’t like it • Cost (Open) - Nasal bridge: silicone - Nasal tip: ear cartilage - Columella: costal cartilage (septal cartilage as priority) - Bulbous nose correction + lengthening - Foreign body removal (thread removal) Each of these had separate costs, and it was too expensive for a first surgery I think they said they would waive the thread removal cost if I decided that day • Post-op visits - Remove cotton the day after surgery - Remove splint on day 7 - Remove ear stitches at week 2 **A/S is available for up to 1 year (sleep anesthesia cost separate) 2. I wasn’t going to go if I liked the first clinic, but I didn’t like it, so I went to the second one This place specializes in endonasal/non-open surgery and the doctor has over 20 years of experience If anything, it seems like a clinic famous for revision surgery There are reaaaaally few reviews, and they don’t do marketing, so the downside is that there isn’t much information, but the review photos were similar to the look I wanted • Consultation review As expected from the doctor’s years of experience, the facilities were old To put it nicely, somewhere between antique and classic The consultant was very cheerful and kind, and she gave me a detailed consultation I went 30 minutes early, so the doctor was in surgery and I waited a bit The doctor explained by drawing pictures, and even though the consultation happened right after surgery ended, he was kind without showing even the slightest sign of being tired There was no excessive pushing, and he looked at things based on overall facial harmony He said he could make the height dramatic, but he didn’t recommend it, and he even noticed the glabella area that looks more prominent because of my low nose, so I was really drawn to him My nostrils aren’t extremely wide, but they aren’t small either, and he said we shouldn’t reduce the nostrils when considering my facial proportions (that made me trust him) +I found out alar reduction also has two types: internal incision / external incision He said they schedule 2 primary surgeries a day, and for revision surgery, 1 surgery a day. I glanced at the schedule and there were quite a lot of bookings (foreign patients too) Two time slots: 10 a.m. / 3 p.m. • Cost - Nasal bridge: silicone or donated dermis (choose 1) - Nasal tip: septal cartilage (if insufficient, ear cartilage or donated costal cartilage) ** Additional cost if donated costal cartilage is used It was exactly what I had in mind, not too cheap and not too expensive I thought it was a reasonable amount. They waived the foreign body removal cost • Post-op visits - Remove cotton the day after surgery + swelling laser - Remove splint on day 7 + swelling laser - Follow-up visits at week 2 / month 1 **A/S is available for up to 2 years (sleep anesthesia cost separate) --- In conclusion, I booked and I’m getting surgery this Friday sob I’m so nervous, but I hope it goes well.
