I’ll continue from the consultation story and post about the surgery and my experience after it.. First, about the cost.. each hospital has a set price.. But as the saying goes, no business is without some haggling.. I’ll say up front that you can save a bit by negotiating^^ For some reason, once I set the date, I didn’t feel nervous or scared.. I had seen reviews from people who’d already had it done, and on TV too there were people who looked like they had almost died and come back to life, but after watching the video during the consultation.. it was a bit uncomfortable, but I kept thinking how simple it seemed..^^;; I was just waiting for the day to come quickly... and my boyfriend was even more nervous and restless than I was, which was kind of funny.. After the consultation and making the reservation... they gave me two printouts: one with the essential things to prepare before surgery, and another with the dates for follow-up exams and what happens during them (wearing the abdominal binder, suture removal, massage, etc.).. No alcohol for one week before.. no food or drink for 12 hours before surgery.. On the day of surgery, wear dark-colored training clothes <-- you wear this during the operation Because they put a towel in after surgery to secure the abdominal binder, they tell you to prepare a loose top...(as I mentioned in a previous review, a shirt is easier than a T-shirt to put on and take off because the arms go through more easily.) <Day of surgery> I prepared everything they told me to bring in advance and went to the hospital. To reduce tension and blood pressure, they told me to come one hour before the surgery.. I signed the consent forms for side effects and surgery.. As expected, hearing about the possible side effects made me feel a bit uneasy.. Mine was scheduled third, in the afternoon, so I was extremely hungry.. After the second person's surgery was finished, the doctor came out and did the design at the place where the photos had been taken.. I thought it would be simple.. but the design was quite meticulous.. looking from side to side over and over, drawing, then checking while I lay down, raising my arms and so on.. During the consultation, the doctor didn’t know I would be having surgery right away, so when he was looking mainly at the photos, he thought that even if I had surgery, my breasts would still gap apart.. But when actually designing and having me raise and rotate my arms, he said my sternum protruded, so they would come together.. Also, during the first consultation, the doctor and the hospital talked about 250 to 275.. He said 250 would look natural, but might seem a little small to me.. and 275 might or might not be possible, and we’d only know during surgery.. When he asked what size I wanted.. honestly, I felt too embarrassed to say I wanted it big.. (After all, I’m paying for it myself...^^;;) So I just said I wanted a size that would look and feel as natural as possible.. Then he asked whether I wanted a B cup or a full B cup.. I said I wanted it to be full.. He showed me photos of models and celebrities’ breasts and asked if that size would be okay, and I said yes.. then gathered my courage and said.. 'It’s been so lacking, so if I’m doing this, I’d like to make it a bit bigger.' Then the doctor looked understandingly and said he understood.. and that the surgery would be over quickly.. After finishing the design, I was guided to the recovery room by a nurse.. I was sitting there a little nervous when another nurse from the operating room came and led me into the operating room.. The operating room was bigger than I expected. I only glanced around, but it looked like they could operate on up to three people.. I lay down.. they checked my blood pressure.. inserted the IV.. and tied my legs down (they don’t cut and insert it right away during surgery.. first they put in something like a water balloon.. then they raise the operating table and make you sit up to see whether it looks awkward or not, and based on that they decide whether to insert 250 or 275.. since the patient might slip off to the side, they tie the legs down.) Then the anesthesiologist came over, smiling, and told me she was the doctor in charge of anesthesia.. while inserting the needle into the IV, she told me to take 10 deep breaths in and out, and said it would be over when I woke up.. I had been curious what it would feel like while reading reviews.. but by the third time breathing in and out, my vision blurred and I lost consciousness.. Then I opened my eyes in the recovery room... the nurse came right in, apparently noticing that I had opened my eyes.. She asked if I was okay and told me the surgery results.. She told me to loosen the abdominal binder wrapped around my breasts and look at them.. my mind was still foggy, so I couldn’t judge accurately, but I felt like 'they got bigger'. Then when I saw them again while getting wrapped back up.. They put one towel on each side and one in the cleavage, so three in total, then tightened everything up with two abdominal binders.. They tightened it so much that later the bone in my cleavage hurt.. At first, they mistakenly told me it was 250, and I was just about to feel disappointed when they corrected it and said 275, which made me happy.. As everyone knows.. if I’m doing this, I might as well go bigger...^^;; They said my tissue was thick, so the dissection was tough and a lot of blood came out, and I might need a blood drain bag for about a day, but thankfully I didn’t need one.. Later I had the pain-control kit on for a day, and even that was already extremely bothersome, so if I had the blood drain bag too, it would have been so annoying... my own body even felt admirable to me...^^;;;; They asked whether a guardian was coming to pick me up, and when I said yes, they took my phone out of my bag.. They showed me the buttons for raising and lowering the bed, and just then my boyfriend called saying he was downstairs.. But I was so dizzy that I absolutely couldn’t get up right away, so I told him to come back in an hour...^^;; Then I spent quite a while trying to steady myself.. As the dizziness gradually seemed to go away, I got the nurse's permission and told my boyfriend to come in.. I got down from the bed and put my clothes back on, and the nurse helped me while seeming a bit surprised.. Other people say it’s hard to lift the upper body, but I could get up fine and put my clothes on by myself.. My bag was also pretty heavy because I had stuffed in the jeans and knit top I wore to the hospital.. I even lifted it easily...^^;;; After leaving the recovery room, I set the time for the next-day follow-up exam, and on the way out I ran into the doctor.. I thanked him, and he seemed a little flustered as he looked at me...^^ A friend had gone to pick up her younger sibling, and she said she couldn’t push the door to close it at that time.. But although I felt some tightness when pulling, it wasn’t a problem at all.. Originally I had thought about taking a taxi so I wouldn’t be a burden to my boyfriend, but in other reviews people said that when going by car, hitting a speed bump feels like you’re coming back from the dead.. So I asked my boyfriend for a favor and we went slowly.. but the road itself wasn’t very smooth.. Every time the car shook, even though my breasts were firmly fixed, I still let out a gasp! I’m uploading a long post quickly, so there are lots of typos and awkward sentences.. please understand.. This one is long too, so I’ll divide it up and post what happened afterward in the next post...^^;
