Hello Before I knew it, half a year has passed since I had double-jaw surgery and two types of facial contouring surgery (square jaw and chin) at an oral and maxillofacial clinic. Before surgery, my face was asymmetrical, so I felt stressed every time I took photos, and I was often told that I looked a little cold because of my strong impression. Because of that, whenever I took photos, I would avoid showing my side profile or cover my chin, but now those habits have completely disappeared. Now I can smile comfortably in front of the camera, and I actually enjoy the time spent taking photos. I have heard a lot that my impression has become much softer and that I look cuter, so I have regained a lot of confidence. During the first month or two, even chewing food was difficult, and going out was uncomfortable because of swelling, but as time passed, it gradually got better. I am wearing braces now, so there is some slight discomfort, but my daily life is not much different from before surgery. However, maybe because I am the type whose swelling goes down slowly, I still have a little swelling left. But when I look in the mirror, I can feel that it is gradually improving, and I am really looking forward to it becoming more natural soon. The biggest change I feel after having surgery is the psychological aspect. In the past, even when I sat face-to-face and talked with people, I would unconsciously cover my chin with my hand, but now I do not do that at all. Because of that, I feel much more comfortable in my relationships with people. People around me also often tell me that I look much brighter than before and that my impression has improved. While going through the recovery process over the past 6 months, there were honestly difficult moments, but now all I can think is that I am really glad I had the surgery. The remaining task ahead is pin removal surgery, and now I am even looking forward to that process. If there are people considering double-jaw surgery, I hope you do not put it off because of fear and give it a try. I hesitated at first too, but now I can recommend it with confidence.
