I went for a consultation, and the consultant was really calm and explained everything well in a comfortable atmosphere. It was great because it didn’t have that overly artificial plastic-surgery look. My first surgery failed and my nose became much longer, especially the columella got longer, so it has a droopy, arrow-like nose shape, and the nasal bridge got shaved down. They talked about using AlloDerm for slight step-off correction of the depressed nasal bridge, and said that if I want to correct the deviation, autologous costal cartilage would be needed. If I give up on correcting the deviation and go with my original shape, they said it’s possible with ear cartilage and reuse of the nasal septum, so I’m thinking about it. But correcting the step-off with AlloDerm feels a bit scary, so I’m still debating. It was my No. 1 choice in my mind, but the director actually suggested shaving down the lower area of the depressed part that looks bulging in relation to the sunken nasal bridge? They said there seemed to be something there, but since it wasn’t filled with anything, the decision isn’t easy. And people say the director is a master of the columella, but they said my long columella doesn’t look that strange and that it looks like Ko So-young, but I really hate that I’m going crazy. I have this feeling of wondering whether the surgery will go well in the direction I want. They have such a strong reputation for doing surgery well that I want to entrust it to them, but I’m really torn I’m going to look around at other places and, once I narrow things down, go back one more time. If they can do it exactly in the shape I want, I think I’ll have another consultation and then do it there.
