I’ve always had a bit of cheekbone prominence on my mom’s side of the family, but it wasn’t really a complex for me. I even called them charming cheekbones haha. But since middle and high school, maybe because I kept propping my chin on my hand too much, my jaw developed... ㅜ.ㅜ Then when I got to college and started dieting, the jaw that had been hidden by fat began to stand out. After that, I lost the weight I had gained while studying abroad, lost the weight I had gained after getting a job, and after three big diets like that (losing 10-15 kg each time lol), it kept feeling like all anyone could see on my face was my jaw. Since I was too scared to shave down the jaw, the first thing I did was "masseter reduction surgery." It may not show well in the photos, but I definitely looked a bit like I had bitten something, kind of Seong Chang-min-ish ㅠ.ㅠ It did reduce it a little, but the real problem was the "square-jaw Botox" they threw in as a free service when I got a skin procedure at a dermatology clinic!!! From that point on, I looked a bit hollow, and the area between my cheekbones and jaw looked sunken in... It really bothered me. After going around to several plastic surgery clinics, I had a "lifting" procedure at one place. I tend to swell a lot originally (after masseter reduction surgery, I spent a full 2 weeks looking severely square-faced, no less than Kim Jin-su ㅠㅠ), and because lifting raises sagging skin with threads, my whole face got pulled a lot, even my nose... I looked extremely Shin Bong-seon-ish lol. B.u.t. as the face that had been pulled started to settle back down, I began to get interested in "autologous fat grafting" to help relieve work stress too. After reading a review from someone with a face shape similar to mine by chance, I decided I absolutely had to do it. On top of that, because the injections were split into five sessions, they said the swelling wouldn’t be too bad. (Actually, unlike the person who counseled me, I had really bad swelling after the first and second sessions, so I honestly thought I had done it for nothing.) Anyway, that’s how I started the injections in April, and I’ve now finished all five sessions. After the first session, my face looked unnatural, like Sunwoo Eun-suk...ㅋㅋㅋ I lied and said I had been in an accident and got hurt (my thighs were in bad shape anyway from the fat being taken out), so they believed that, but it was hard to avoid the suspicious looks from people around me ㅋㅋㅋ Everyone first asked if I had gotten Botox. Until the second session I was still swollen, so I wore glasses a lot, but from the third session on, it became so natural that people couldn’t even tell whether I had done it or not. For reference, I’m in my 20s~ First of all, because I had never been satisfied before, I had never posted a review even after having several procedures. My face isn’t particularly small either, so I worried that fat grafting might make me look even rounder, but in the end I think it turned out well haha. I also put fat into my nose, so the bridge became higher, and once my flat face became more three-dimensional, it was really amazing. People also say I somehow look prettier. They can’t point to exactly where ㅋㅋㅋ So I want to keep it to myself, but somehow lots of people seem to know anyway ㅋㅋㅋ In my opinion, it’s less about what you do and more about how much aesthetic sense the person doing it has. Anyway, I don’t think I’ll do anything else to my face for a while haha.
