Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews@jaw-review

A month and three weeks after surgery.

At the end of July, I had surgery for maxillary and mandibular protrusion and the chin tip (sandwich) procedure, and now I’m one month into orthodontic treatment. For more than 20 years, I lived with a protruding mouth. Mouse teeth. Try grinding a radish.... As a woman, I heard things that were hard to bear. I really persuaded my parents with tears. I truly didn’t want to live like this... Maybe because they understood how desperate I was, at least my dad told me to go for a consultation first, so I made an appointment right away and rushed to the hospital. The director’s kind, confident, and straightforward consultation seemed to have completely won over my mom more than me. She said to go ahead and book it right away. My dad said Mom would be in charge of it.^^ They drew blood right then and there...(I felt like that was when the pain really began.) The night before surgery... I really, really couldn’t sleep. I had lots of random thoughts too. Hmm... how should I put it, I think men probably feel like this the day before going into the army. Lying in the operating room, I exchanged a few words with the nurses. - I think the nurses were probably talking to me on purpose so I wouldn’t be so nervous. Someone who seemed to be the anesthesiologist said something and then... When I opened my eyes, the surgery was over. I was moved to the ward. More than pain, I just felt out of it. I kept feeling sleepy... so I guess I just slept straight through. When I woke up the next morning, only then I thought, ah, I really did have the surgery. But... the face in the mirror was not mine. A square bandage stuck around my mouth. Through the gap, lips swollen out like sausages. Thanks to the care(?) of one of the nurses, my five-day hospital stay was very comfortable. During that time, someone was having surgery every day. That sound in the operating room, like bone being cut or a power saw... When I took off the tape from my face and went home, I felt this strange, unexplained anxiety. I wanted to take one of the nurses home with me. Seeing my family for the first time in almost a week. Everyone’s expression was... haha It was neither glad to see me nor shocking nor... No one told me that I had become prettier. Back then... I was seriously disappointed. Whenever I went to the hospital for treatment, the manager said the swelling was going down really well, but I couldn’t really tell, and I couldn’t tell if I looked prettier either... I just felt a bit depressed. On August 31, when I started brushing my teeth, I got the orthodontic appliances put on. It hurt for two or three days. I didn’t even have this much pain after the surgery, and yet orthodontic treatment turned out to be this hidden twist... About three weeks after the surgery, I met a friend. This friend... said I was pretty, that I had been transformed, that money really does help... It was neither exactly teasing nor exactly praise... I was so embarrassed by my friend laughing loudly that I told them to be quiet, but honestly, I felt really good. Come to think of it, I did seem a little prettier in the mirror too. Hmm... really, my good friend... honestly, what could have changed that much in just three weeks. I probably looked a little dry and awkward, but my friend kindly exaggerated on purpose... People I wasn’t close to, or even just while I was only doing orthodontic treatment, seem to think, without really knowing about the surgery, that I got prettier like this. There’s still a long way to go before the orthodontic treatment ends - and that part is honestly depressing - but I think getting the surgery was the best decision. Of course it was hard. There were the looks from people around me, and I felt sorry to my parents because it cost a lot. No, putting all that aside, I was just so scared and even depressed, wondering why I had to be born looking like this and have surgery. But once I shut my eyes tight and went through with the surgery, it feels like the past month and a half just flew by. haha I also hesitated and worried a lot. I read a lot of reviews and experiences from all over. So I hope my post can help, even a little, those who are considering surgery. Thank you for reading this long post.
