Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

Posting my day 6 review after nose surgery

While I was worrying about surgery for a bulbous nose, I had a consultation and booked right away. I had surgery on the 18th, got the stitches removed yesterday, and there is still something like a support inside my nose. They say it will be removed tomorrow~ My nasal bridge bone was wide, so they performed osteotomy, and they were going to use septal cartilage for the nasal tip, but they said it was short, so they used ear cartilage as well. From the first day after surgery until now, I had many symptoms and changes. I wondered if it would have been helpful if the clinic had given me a written guide about the psychological anxiety that can come with each symptom. I was very anxious, looked in the mirror all day, and could not sleep for a week. It was really hard. Day 1- As the anesthesia wore off, apparently I urinated in my pantsㅠㅠ After checking that I was wearing different underwear, I was so embarrassed. They said it was because of the IV fluids and anesthetic, and for 2-3 days I kept going in and out of the bathroom and urinated often. My nose was bleeding, and it was worse when I lay down and got back up. Blood kept flowing frequently. (It stopped by the second day) Day 2 - I think I barely slept, about 2 hours sitting up. Even though I kept my head higher than my heart, bruising appeared around my eyes during that time. Along with pain, I also had a severe headache continuously, so I barely slept. I kept taking painkillers every few hours. I went for dressing, and the doctor said it went well and that I would swell more the next day. They said my septal cartilage was short, so they also used ear cartilage, and that they tried their best to create the beoseon-style nose shape I wanted. Day 3 - From the first day, I practically kept doing cold compresses almost 24 hours a day. Even so, I think this was the day the swelling peaked the most. I kept feeling anxious, wondering if something had gone wrong and whether I would be okay by the time I had to go to work. Day 4 - It did not swell any further, and since I kept doing cold compresses, the Avatar-like eye area and the chubby, raised cheek swelling started to show signs of going down little by little. Still, I thought it would be better not to do warm compresses yet, so I kept doing only cold compresses. Day 5 - I went to have the stitches removed, and I think it was really the worst pain after surgery. Tears kept streaming down, and I gritted my teeth and endured it. They said the ear cartilage tape and whatever is inside my nose will be removed in two days. Because I was anxious about having to go to work, I tried to calm the bruising with warm compresses, but I guess I have to leave it to time. Still, now warm compresses seem to work better than cold compresses. Day 6 - Especially at night, when it gets close to bedtime, even if I am not lying down, my nose feels like it is swelling and throbbing as if it might burst, and the ear cartilage pain comes with it, making me reach for painkillers. Starting today, I am going to try to stop taking painkillers. - Both before and after stitch removal, something kept flowing out of one nostril, whether it was nasal discharge or silicone, so I asked. They said it can happen when the mucous membrane is irritated and that it is normal. - They told me to avoid spicy and hot foods as much as possible because they make you sweat, but I just ate them while wiping my runny nose. During the Chuseok holiday, there were so many foods I wanted to eat. No matter what I ate, since I couldn’t breathe well through my nose, my nose would run. - Although it is only day 6, I had only been lurking, but I wanted to share the symptoms I experienced too, so I wrote them down as they came to mind. I went to work today and my coworkers could not hide their surprise, but fortunately they encouraged meㅠㅠ The nasal tip is still extremely swollen, so I haven’t heard anyone say it looks pretty yetㅋㅋㅋ Because the swelling has not gone down on both sides where the nasal tip and alar area begin, the front view looks like a stubby nose, but the side view is pretty with a beoseon-style noseㅋㅋㅋ I want the swelling to go down quickly so I can welcome my settled, stable own!! nose! That day will come, right?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Everyone, fighting!!
