Chamin Community Review

Chamin was the first hospital I went to because I was thinking of having it done there. I had a consultation for L-shaped silicone removal and revision surgery. I had a CT scan and then a consultation. The wait was long. They said it was not contracture and that the L-shaped implant was just sitting well. When I asked whether the upturned nasal tip was contracture, they said my skin was soft and it was not contracture. There were no signs of inflammation on the CT. Since I wanted to lower the lifted tip, they emphasized autologous costal cartilage and said other materials would not work. My current nose has not had the septal cartilage or ear cartilage touched at all, so there is enough material, but when I asked if I really had to use autologous costal cartilage, they said if I wasn't going to use autologous costal cartilage, other materials would be insufficient, so if I did autologous costal cartilage they would also do the nasal tip, and otherwise it would be better to just remove the silicone and live with it. What I couldn't understand here was that they said my nose was severe enough to need autologous costal cartilage, but then said if not autologous costal cartilage, I should just remove the silicone and live with it, which made me lose trust. They just emphasized autologous costal cartilage without enough consideration or alternatives. Of course, I think from the doctor's perspective they may have confidence in autologous costal cartilage, but when all the other cartilage is untouched, the extreme expression that if not autologous costal cartilage I should just live with it was not persuasive. They said they handle many extremely difficult noses, so this kind of nose is an easy one, but that made me wonder if that was why the consultation felt careless. I had high expectations and went there to have surgery, but came out disappointed.
