Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

A clinic consultation review for an extremely difficult first rhinoplasty

I have a nose that is small, low, and upturned, a bulbous nose on top of that, and even thin skin, so everywhere I go they say it’s a difficult case.

To be honest, I didn’t have major complaints about my nose, but my mom gave me such a pretty forehead and my dad gave me a pretty pointed chin, so when my side profile was photographed, the sunken midface looked seriously emphasized. Along with that, my lower face looked a bit protruded..? Like it looked as if I had a protruding jaw ㅠ My biggest long-time concern was that my face shape looked like a half-moon, and I heard that wasn’t something fillers could fix, so I decided on surgery.

Three years ago, without knowing much, I went to consultations at a few places. At a hospital known for not overtreating, they said my skin was too thin, so if silicone was inserted, it would all show through, and because my nose was so small, I probably had very little septal cartilage, so it would be nowhere near enough to lower the upturned nose and raise the nasal tip. Even if I had surgery, it wouldn’t look like I spent money at all => don’t do it, just get filler. When I went to famous clinics with pretty reviews, even though it was my first rhinoplasty, based on prices at the time, the basic price was in the 4 million won range, and they said that even for a first surgery, costal cartilage would definitely have to be used, so I got scared and only went around for consultations back then. This time, I made a list mainly of doctors who had many reviews for small noses and who were said to have performed many difficult-case surgeries, and went around to them.

Clinic - Director Among all the doctors I’ve consulted with so far, this doctor counseled me with the most confidence, so honestly this consultation stayed in my memory the most. I really felt the vibe of someone experienced, like, ah, they’ve truly done a lot of small, upturned, difficult noses. I asked about all the discouraging things I’d heard at other clinics, and they said that if I were their acquaintance, they would definitely tell me to do it. They said my skin is thin, but theirs is thinner, and they wouldn’t use so much silicone that it would show through. They also didn’t recommend costal cartilage, and although I don’t have a lot of septal cartilage, they said it didn’t seem to be to the point where costal cartilage was needed, so I felt comforted, like ah... maybe my cartilage/material situation isn’t that hopeless ㅠㅠ

I was recommended bulbous nose correction by suturing the cartilage + raising the nasal tip with septal cartilage + lowering the nasal tip with ear cartilage + inserting silicone on the bridge to match the raised tip height + alar reduction because the nostril base is wide. I was quoted 4 million won for this. (June-only event price)

They understood exactly what my concern was, and they first mentioned that my chin looked protruded because I had almost no nose, which felt so refreshing ㅠㅠ I kept nodding endlessly ㅠㅠ While drawing on my photo, they said that if the nasal tip was raised based on the angle with the chin tip rather than the angle with the mouth corner, it would be solved. As soon as they drew that, it looked like I had forehead filler, and I thought, oh... my forehead was this pretty? ㅠㅠ They said that just getting the angle between the chin tip and nasal tip aligned would improve the overall balance of my face. For them, the nasal tip is more important than nose height.

This clinic was my first consultation this year, and after that I went to six more places, but this consultation remains the most memorable.

When I said that some clinics had even advised against surgery itself, they said very confidently, “It’s not to that extent! Your result would be dramatic but still natural-looking. If you were my acquaintance, I’d recommend it a hundred times.” Honestly... all the disappointments I heard while going around to clinics... “you don’t have much material,” “it’s difficult”... I felt comforted about all of it. Even if you don’t end up having surgery there, if you’re tired from consultations, everyone, go there to feel healed,, The director is the best,,
