I heard another hospital was unfriendly and scary, so I was really tense there, and I had heard a lot of good things about this place, so I went in with expectations, but hmm… I get that the doctor has expertise and I get that they’re smart, but it had a strong university hospital professor vibe. They said to ask if I had questions, but when I asked, the tone felt like they were looking down on me as if I hadn’t understood what they said, and it was very irritating. It was very uncomfortable that the conversation proceeded in a vertical relationship, not a horizontal doctor-patient relationship, with a feeling of “I’m smarter than you, so everything I say is right and you’re stupid.” Of course, since they’re a doctor, I respect that they know better than anyone and are an expert. I know that even if they don’t put it into their words, but it was a bit uncomfortable to watch them try hard to show how great they are. They recommended correcting only the nasal tip without implants, and instead of looking at my face and consulting while considering harmony with a protruding mouth or other structures, they just showed me a ton of before-and-after photos of patients similar to me. Other places tell me things like, because my mouth protrudes, this is bad or good, but here it was just a time for showing off their surgical skill. If looking only at surgery, I did get the feeling that they would do it well.
