My nose surgery is this Saturday, week 3 I didn’t have any big complaints about my nose, but around 2017! For my first surgery: while doing surgery for a deviated septum and sinusitis, please shave down the hump a little, raise the tip, and make the nostrils less visible (I was often told my nose was pretty + I never had any worries about a high nose, a bulbous nose, or anything like that + an ass nose) When I was going around for consultations, there were even doctors who said I didn’t need surgery I didn’t want to leave a scar on the columella, so the doctor who said an open approach was possible said they would slightly lift the columella + shave down the hump + raise the tip using septal cartilage -> my biggest stress was the nostrils, and they said that could be improved After surgery, the nostrils still showed the same way + the tip became bulbous + the columella got shorter I just lived with it thinking there would be no revision In 2024 I got married, and my husband said my nose was low, so I took a side photo and it had become low like a beak (my original nose had a triangular, pointy feel) I wanted to remove the septal extension graft and return to my original nose, but everyone said you can’t go back to your original nose, and there were lots of recommendations for costal cartilage They said they would bring the nostrils down + advance the nasal tip forward while lowering it slightly -> I hated the cut columella, so I brought photos of Shin Se-kyung’s nose The surgery was scheduled for 1:00, but during the week of surgery they asked if I could come at 1:30, and the day before they told me to come at 2:00 I went by 2:00, but I didn’t enter surgery until after 3:00 The nurse couldn’t place the IV properly on the back of my left hand, so she stuck me three times After surgery, the bruise on my arm is still basically a green bruise over almost the whole arm The problem is that my nose got way longer and the nostrils are still visible... The doctor said the nose had become too long, so they couldn’t lower the nostrils any more.. I said my goal for the surgery was that, more than improving the tip in side view, not showing the nostrils was priority number one, and asked to use costal cartilage and open the columella properly so it could be improved well if possible We did all that.. My side profile now shows even more nostril and.. my nose got longer, so I ended up looking like some foreign man.. The comments I’m hearing now are not even that I look pretty, but that my image has changed, why is my nose so long, I can see more nostril, it was better before... I work teaching kids, and the kids were shocked when they saw my face The kids are brutally honest I’ve been living without taking off my mask The doctor said it was extremely difficult to raise it, and that after 6 months we could try an open nostril skin graft or something like that. Has anyone had a long nose shorten again? If I take photos, the proportions are something like forehead 0.8, nose 1.1... My philtrum is long too, so my proportions are really ruined, and everyone around me is worried I never even heard that my nose would get longer... How could it change this much with no implant?? After 6 months I want to remove everything completely My original nose seems to show the nostrils the least... Maybe I should have just reduced the nostrils back then Ugh, this is really driving me insane. Even people around me aren’t saying, “It’s fine, don’t stress,” but more like, “Ah... yeah... that’s worrying,” which makes me even crazier
