Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Double-jaw and facial contouring, 4 months: recovery process for malocclusion and gummy smile …

It has already been 4 months since I had double-jaw surgery with Director Shin Hee-jin at Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dental Clinic, so I’m writing a review haha. Since I was young, I had so much discomfort because of malocclusion I was bothered by how much my gums showed when I smiled, and when I closed my mouth, my chin would wrinkle like a walnut. My teeth also didn’t meet properly, and because I always had to stay with my mouth open, it was very uncomfortable in daily life. I had thought about surgery for a long time, but I was scared and couldn’t easily decide. Then I made up my mind to be brave and do it before I got older! So I went ahead with double-jaw surgery and facial contouring surgery together!! I think everyone feels the same about choosing a hospital, but I also looked into it very carefully. What I felt was that for facial bone surgery, rather than a simple cosmetic plastic surgery clinic, it is right to have surgery at a specialized oral and maxillofacial surgery hospital. Jaw surgery is not simply a matter of shape; it is a surgery connected to sensory nerves, occlusion, gums, and teeth, so I thought an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic that can look at bone + teeth + nerves all at once would be more systematic than a plastic surgery clinic. And when I actually had a consultation at Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Director Shin’s explanation and confidence felt so trustworthy that I decided right away!!! Right after surgery, in the early stage, it was so hard to breathe and my jaw hurt little by little, so I was out of it The swelling was also huge, and I wanted to go for walks but had no strength. As time passed, at 1 month, my cheeks were very swollen, so it felt frustrating, but I’m enduring it because they said everyone goes through this period. Sleeping with elastics in is also subtly uncomfortable, but I thought of it as proof that I’m recovering! At 2 months, sensation was coming back very little by very little, and I definitely felt that the swelling had gone down haha. Of course, in my own wish, I hoped it would go down a bit faster Still, every time I looked in the mirror, I could see my facial line gradually becoming more defined, so I felt hopeful. Now that 3 months have passed and I’m in my 4th month, maybe because of residual swelling, my face still feels swollen!! Especially because I seem to be the type whose swelling lasts particularly long, I worry about what if it stays like this…!! But people around me say there are individual differences, and reading other reviews too, everyone says, ‘time will solve it,’ just like they say double-jaw surgery is a battle with time! I’m also thinking positively and continuing to recover steadily!!! Director Shin Hee-jin at Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, thank you once again for performing the surgery well without postoperative side effects!!><
