Hello~ I’m sharing a review now that I’m entering month 11 after two-jaw surgery! I hope it helps even a little for those who are deliberating like I did haha I had severe asymmetry and malocclusion, so I never felt confident when taking photos, and it was uncomfortable enough that I had trouble biting food off in one go So after thinking about it for a long time, I decided on two-jaw surgery, and I chose Director Shin at the oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic, which is known for meticulous postoperative care and natural-looking design! Immediately after surgery~Week 1 Honestly, this period was the hardest I couldn’t breathe through my nose, so it felt stuffy, and my face was so swollen that even drinking a sip of water was difficult. On top of that, even though I was extremely sleepy, I had to stay awake for certain periods, so I think I was pretty mentally drained too. Still, around days 3~4, the nose starts to open up little by little, and you begin to feel the swelling changing! Week 2~Month 1 After the stitches are removed and your mouth starts opening little by little, eating becomes possible! It gradually became comfortable enough that I could eat soft foods even with a large spoon haha There was some swelling in the morning, but by evening it went down a lot, and it was a period that gave me strength because I could clearly feel that I was improving~! Months 2~3 I was so happy because I could chew more foods than I expected haha I could eat nuts and slightly tough foods without much difficulty, and the swelling went down to the point where people around me could barely tell! There was only slight residual swelling around the philtrum or beside the nose, but as time passed it naturally settled~ Months 4~6 From this period, there was almost no sign that I had surgery! I could cautiously eat hard or chewy foods too, and occasionally when the weather was cold, my jaw felt a little stiff, but it didn’t interfere with daily life at all. I had no discomfort with sensation whatsoever, so I think I was really a lucky case haha Month 7~Now (Month 11) These days I’m really living as if I forgot I had two-jaw surgery haha At first, the inside of my mouth felt a bit narrower, so I felt like there wasn’t enough space when chewing, but now I’m not uncomfortable at all! There are no sensory abnormalities, my jaw is comfortable, and my lips have become much more natural~ As the residual swelling keeps going down little by little, I can see my facial line becoming softer and more refined, so my satisfaction has gotten higher as time goes on! At first it was really hard and I had many worries, but now I truly think I’m glad I had the surgery! Rather than my facial image changing drastically from surgery alone, once the asymmetry and discomfort disappeared, I became much more confident when taking photos and in daily life haha If you’re deliberating about two-jaw surgery, the recovery process is definitely hard! But results that you can be fully satisfied with follow accordingly, so don’t be too scared~!
