Something about shaving bone and making incisions felt scary, and the cost was a burden too, so I thought I’d start with something simple like filler first. When I first got the filler procedure, I was pretty satisfied. Since the bridge line of my nose looked smooth, my overall impression looked much softer, and it was fascinating that my appearance had changed so easily. But this was only an optical illusion, and as time passed, the filler gradually got absorbed. Especially since the method was to fill in the hump area to make it look flat, it looked okay from the front, but my side profile still looked awkward? After a few months, it started sinking little by little, and the original hooked-nose feeling came back. Fundamentally, the protruding bone structure was still the same. I proceeded with customized surgery, and after surgery, at first there was some swelling and bruising, but as time passed, my nose line really settled beautifully. The hump disappeared too, and I loved how the nasal bridge and tip connected naturally. The line that was absolutely impossible with filler was created perfectly with one surgery, so I thought, ‘Ah, this is the real thing.’ Of course, filler is simple, so it does feel less burdensome. But when there is a structural issue like a hump, it really has its limits. There are many cases like mine where people get filler a few times and eventually have surgery, so I think it’s good to carefully consider from the beginning which method suits you better.
