About 10 years ago... I had my second nose surgery, but because of my nasal tip that kept becoming more crooked and a bridge that still looked wide even after osteotomy, I had only been thinking about revision surgery as time kept passing. Then one day, I hit my nose hard and felt the bridge implant move, so while looking into plastic surgery clinics, I found Lowell Plastic Surgery!! Since it was my 3rd nose surgery, I had to be even more careful, and I found it while diligently researching online (I didn’t want to waste time going here and there for consultations). It has one director, and he was apparently famous for revision rhinoplasty. And this time, I really couldn’t ignore the cost even more, so I was filtering out hospitals where the price was basically whatever they called it, or places with prices set too high. But Lowell said the event price stayed as-is with no additional charges. Usually, even if they say it’s an event price, once this and that gets added on, the cost becomes way too high. On the day of my consultation, as soon as I entered the clinic, what I felt was that it wasn’t a huge space, but it felt cozy and warm. I was moved by how Director Suhyeon consulted with me so~~ thoroughly and sincerely. Like chatting comfortably with a close older sister, we talked about this and that and talked about plastic surgery, and I was able to share my worries and concerns about revision eye canthoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. I think this was truly the first place that consulted with me sincerely for such a long time. After the director’s consultation was the doctor’s consultation, and what I heard overlapped with what Director Suhyeon had told me, so she almost seemed like a doctor too haha When I met Director Kim Jae-yoon and had the consultation, they took a CT scan and I could see inside my nose, which felt so relieving and nice. He took photos again on a tablet and explained it easily with drawings, and he explained the surgical method, recommendations about autologous costal cartilage and donated rib cartilage, scarring, and how he does quadruple fixation of the nasal tip really thoroughly and carefully. Seeing that, even though it was my first consultation clinic, I immediately booked the surgery date. I got the feeling that he had a good aesthetic sense, he looked neat, had a handsome impression, and gave a good first impression. He clearly told me what would work, what wouldn’t, what was okay, and what wasn’t okay, so I trusted him. Neither Director Suhyeon nor Director Jae-yoon did excessive consultation or treatment. He said I already had a certain amount of nasal bridge height. Since my existing implant was very thin, he recommended no implant and autologous costal cartilage. I had gone in thinking about autologous costal cartilage anyway, so I decided to do as he recommended. On top of that, they said the doctor was good not only at revision rhinoplasty but also eye surgery and even scars, and they said they provide scar care here too. Amazing, right? I was able to have surgery with a little less worry about scarring. On the day of surgery, honestly, it hurt My nose was blocked, and although I had non-incisional posterior canthoplasty 1 year ago, it was gradually going back to how it used to be, so while getting my nose revision, I also had revision dual canthoplasty done together. My eyes had conjunctival edema and swelling, and because my nose also had osteotomy, the bruising and swelling were very severe. My nose was blocked, stinging, I couldn’t sleep lying down, I was thirsty... Anyway, the day of surgery and the first day were painful. No, the pain was severe until the second day. Since I had surgery, of course it would hurt... It may differ from person to person, though... But here, they removed the nasal cotton right away the day after surgery. Since I did my eyes and nose together, I had stinging eyes, tears, and nasal congestion, and even after removing the nasal cotton, it was still blocked. Rather, the autologous costal cartilage area only pulled whenever I put strength into my abdomen, but there wasn’t much pain. My nose was very stinging and painful. lol Then from day 4, it gradually became more tolerable.. What made me feel Lowell takes good care of patients is that it’s week 2 now, and I’ve visited about 4 times after surgery. Up to the 3rd visit, they took good care of me with swelling injections, swelling laser, antibiotic injections, etc. The treatment room nurse was really kind, and she did the disinfection and treatments so well. Even though it hadn’t been long since surgery, I was worrying about swelling and bruising, so she comforted me, praised me saying I was taking good care of it, and every time the nurse disinfected my nose, it felt so refreshed that I could live. I think Lowell is the first place where the doctor shows his face and checks on me every time I visit. At home too, I disinfected as instructed, used ointment, eye drops, medicine, took everything regularly, and really took care of it diligently. Since it’s week 2, of course there is still bruising and swelling, but even though I did it without an implant, the line is definitely different. From the front, the swelling is still quite full, but I guess more time needs to pass, right? The canthoplasty already seems to have turned out natural too. I do have some greed wishing it were opened more, but I’m thinking this is the maximum opening possible. I had thought I shouldn’t get impatient about the nose scar or eyes and should wait until even the residual swelling is all gone, but I’m already getting impatient lol and worried again. Still, I’m going to listen to the doctor and wait well. I think meeting Director Kim Jae-yoon at Lowell was lucky. Nice timing!! I’m looking forward to how I’ll look going forward and to the scar care.!!
