Um, I had cheekbone + jaw surgery done using a minimal-incision method. I had it in August 2005, so it’s been 5 years now~ ㄷㄷ Back then, I wasn’t a member here either, and I just followed my older sister into it, so I was really clueless ㅜㅜ I didn’t research the hospital enough, and I just thought that if it was minimal incision, recovery would be quick.. For facial contouring, I think you really should do it at a hospital specializing in facial contouring,,, it’s not that there was any especially major side effect, but I felt the doctor’s skill was probably lacking compared with someone with a lot of experience. If I had joined this community earlier and looked into it, I probably wouldn’t have done it at that hospital... I think fame can’t be faked ㅡㅡ I don’t agree that swelling goes down and recovery is fast either... I think the subtle swelling only completely went down after 2 years,, it was mostly gone around 1 year, but if you include after waking up, the day after drinking, and edema too. The cheekbone effect was pretty good~ My face width was quite wide, and my mom even said it seemed like it had become too narrow and flat. I think minimal-incision cheekbone surgery is recommendable~ the effect is good too~ scalp incision is scary, you know? ㄷㄷ But while doing it, my left cheekbone got osteotomized, so the surgery took way too long. Jaw + cheekbone took a full 6 hours.... I feel like my brain got worse ㅜㅜ;; That’s why I thought it was a lack of skill,, For the square jaw, ㅡ_ㅡ I didn’t see much effect~ For a square jaw, it definitely seems like you need an intraoral incision to cut the jawbone; there’s a limit to making a hole under the chin and shaving it down.... The frontal + side effects weren’t that big, and from the front it isn’t like that, but from the side the two sides were shaved unevenly. On the right there’s almost no angle under the jaw, but on the left a lot of angle remains...ㅡㅡ I get Botox regularly, and actually Botox has a good frontal effect~ It has a lifting effect too.. And with minimal-incision square jaw surgery, you get a scar under the chin, and that’s not something you can ignore. I later had scar-removal surgery, but it still remains slightly now, and when I touch it, it remains as a hypertrophic scar.. Especially people with a lot of fat under the chin (double chin, etc.), the scar shows;; Also, unusually for me, when I talk or do things, my chin kind of sinks in like a peach pit? Wrinkly? Like a John Travolta chin ㅡㅡ It’s okay when I’m still, but when I talk or do things,, It seems like all the nerves were cut while shaving the jaw ㅡㅡ And I don’t know if the scalpel grazed it, but they even left a fine scratch wound on my left jaw -_- so annoying~ ㅡㅡ Anyway, talking about it is making me annoyed,,ㅡㅡ Don’t do minimal-incision surgery for a square jaw -_- If you’re going to do it, only do minimal incision for cheekbones~ Also, when you do facial contouring, the overall balance of the face can get a bit disrupted, so there’s a tendency to go on to do other surgeries one after another~ It’s not like you can do just that and magically make your face smaller and prettier. Physically, as the bone is reduced, the facial skin(?) remains, and the features tend to get a little buried -_- Is that what people commonly call cheek sagging? It wasn’t severe, but there was a bit of that tendency~ Also, I have some facial fat. Because of that, afterward I had forehead fat grafting + nose surgery + nasolabial fold augmentation.. And Botox regularly too.. After doing those, the round, undefined look of my face disappeared and the three-dimensionality came back~ Anyway, in conclusion, compared with before, my face did become smaller and softer, but maybe because of the limitations of minimal incision, there were side effects too. And recovery wasn’t particularly fast either,, If that’s the case, it would be better to properly have it addressed through a scalp or intraoral incision~ Especially for a square jaw, my conclusion is that I do not recommend it~ Still, thinking about it now, I feel lucky that it ended without any serious side effects.. Anyway, I did facial contouring because I didn’t know, but when I think about how hard it was, it doesn’t seem like a surgery you can do more than once in a lifetime,, I’m pretty tough, but although it’s disappointing, I’m not considering revision surgery. Anyway, there don’t seem to be many long-term reviews, so I’m posting this~ Please use it as a reference~
