On Saturday at 2 p.m., I had genuine Restylane injected into my nose. The doctor was a full member of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and had long experience in this field, so I trusted them and went ahead without hesitation. I did have a slight hump on my nose, but I was fairly satisfied with it. Maybe my greed brought disaster. About 1 hour after the injection, my nose began to swell with a tearing pain. Along with a bruised purple color, my nose turned black, and the needle-pricking, stabbing pain spread from under my eyes to the side of my head and down to my neck. At first, I thought it was just bruising because I had filler, but as time passed, the right nostril/alar area became numb, and the pain became so severe that I could barely breathe. Since it was Saturday, I couldn’t reach the clinic, and on Sunday I couldn’t bear it anymore, so I bought anti-inflammatory painkillers at a local pharmacy and took them. My thought that I could simply get it done on Saturday and go to work afterward was a miscalculation. As soon as Monday morning came, I went to the clinic. The doctor said it wasn’t even an excessive injection, and Restylane is safe, but that I was just an unlucky case. They said it was an extremely rare case and that the Restylane probably seemed to have blocked a blood vessel. Then they put in medication to dissolve the Restylane and said they would open the blocked blood vessel, and began stabbing my severely swollen nose with a syringe. Tears started flowing from my eyes, and I shuddered from the enormous pain along with regret. I had thought of it lightly, just wanting to become a little prettier, and got filler injected, but now I can’t go to work and I’m suffering major losses from outpatient treatment costs. I asked the doctor when the blackened, dead-looking skin would return to normal, but the answer I got was that if I waited, it would all come back. I’m worried whether it will take months or years, and whether it will ever return to how it was. Those of you who think of filler as something simple, please think very carefully. In this kind of situation, can this be considered negligence on the clinic’s part? The doctor says I was just an unlucky case, and that they were only trying to do it well. I feel so frustrated and wronged, wondering whether I can get a refund for the medication costs or filler fee, and I can’t do anything. Also? Isn’t a blocked blood vessel a doctor’s error? If my nose skin does not return to how it was before in this situation, can I claim damages? Or what treatment would I need to get my face back to how it was before..ㅜㅜ The second photo is my current condition, and it looks like a scab is forming, but it’s indented and looks terribly disfiguring, right?ㅠㅠ I can’t even go outside.
