I had cheekbone reduction surgery 2 years ago. Cheekbone surgery is pretty expensive. My cheekbones weren’t that severe, but I would often hear that my impression looked harsh, so I went for it thinking it might help a bit. The hospital also said my cheekbones wouldn’t completely disappear, but it would be effective for improving my impression. After I had it done, only the 45-degree cheekbone area went in a bit. There wasn’t much change in my impression. If there was any effect, maybe hats suit me a little better now? -_- The problem is that scar tissue developed above my nasolabial folds. It appeared together with swelling, and after a little over a year, all the other swelling went down, but only this remained. Since then, even now over 2 years later, there has been no change. Before, I had cheekbones, but my facial contour was smooth. Now, because of this, there is an uneven contour. Also, a slight hollow formed in the area in front of my ears where the cheekbone was osteotomized. Sometimes people even ask if I put fat in my cheeks. As the scar tissue protruded, the dark circles above and below and the nasolabial folds became worse. I felt I couldn’t leave it like this, so I went to the hospital for a consultation. Doctor said: With any surgery, scarring happens, but it isn’t that severe, so leaving it naturally is the best option. Coordinator said: You have a lot of facial fat (they never said this before surgery, and personally I’ve never once in my life been told I have a lot of facial fat), so it will be hard for it to completely settle in the future, but radiofrequency, filler (they quoted 2.6 million won, and I was momentarily so dumbfounded), PPC, etc. could be used, but the results may not be good, so don’t do them. Why are you focusing on a barely noticeable flaw instead of looking at the parts that turned out well? Who said I wasn’t looking at the parts that turned out well, seriously The protruding scar tissue is noticeable enough that other people can roughly tell, but when I said I wanted to reduce my cheekbones that other people said were fine, they readily said it would be effective. Now when I ask what to do about scar tissue that everyone else can notice, they’re lying there talking nonsense about how I’m not looking at the parts that turned out well. Ah, after the consultation I was completely furious, seriously. The problem is that people notice the scar tissue more than they notice that the cheekbones went in. Unless the scar tissue is like some monstrous lump and looks hideous, they basically say there’s nothing that can be done. As someone who has tried various cosmetic surgeries, I’ve concluded that cheekbone surgery was the biggest waste of money. In the end, I wasted nearly 5 million won just so hats would look a little prettier on me. If I include the cost of fat grafting and other things because I was stressed about the hollows in my face, it’s even more. For those who say it’s okay if you use another method rather than making an intraoral incision and poking around like I had, I have nothing to say, but I want to say that you should think once more before getting cheekbone surgery where they make an intraoral incision and poke around beside the nose. Right now, because of my nasolabial folds and under-eye wrinkles, I look more than 5 years older than before surgery.
