I couldn’t sleep at all all night yesterday... My nose was throbbing... it was miserable... The symptoms were... My nose had been throbbing for a few days.. and a little swollen, so I thought it was just part of the healing process... but it kept getting more painful, after a sore throat from tonsillitis... it throbbed even more.. There even seemed to be a slight smell from my runny nose... As soon as I woke up in the morning.. I ran to the hospital without even making an appointment. The head doctor was in surgery.. so I was seen by another doctor.... He said it might be inflammation, or it might not be... and that the surgeon who did the operation should look at it in person... right after he came out of the operating room, he told me to make a time appointment.. So I went home and came back to the hospital in the afternoon. For being in that much pain while not sleeping, it wasn’t swollen at all. It didn’t seem like there was anything soft and full inside, and it wasn’t red either. If there’s discharge, it comes out in a steady stream... but that wasn’t happening either. When I mentioned the sore throat, they said since the throat connects to the nose, there is a risk of infection if you catch a sore throat.. They also inverted the inside of my nose with forceps and searched around carefully while shining a light, and said it looked clean... while poking around like that, they asked whether it didn’t hurt. They said it looked a little swollen, and when I said my nose used to be smaller than this, they said that during the healing process, depending on how I’m feeling, the nose can subtly shrink and expand. Anyway... since the sore throat is worrying, I took antibiotics, got two injections... one in the butt and one in a vein..ㅠ.ㅠ They said to watch it for a week. They told me to think of it as if I had just had surgery and to avoid alcohol, smoking, overwork, exercise, swimming pools, and so on for a month, and I came home. Getting nose surgery is really hard.. I didn’t know recovery could be this difficult. I wasn’t that happy with the shape after surgery, but if I can live with this higher nose like this.. I feel like I could do anything. Was this the result of greed? If something difficult comes up and they can’t tell whether it’s inflammation or what, then... yes, I had surgery out of vanity, so serves me right. I feel like everyone would think that... so I don’t even have anyone to talk to. It’s a depressing night. Looks aren’t everything in life... so why do I feel so upset? The hospital is in Apgujeong, and when I looked out of the car window in the evening, there were so many women with high noses and pretty faces. Everyone... walking around with noses that high and such haughty expressions, and I’m the unlucky one... it felt bitter.
