I ruined my life at this clinic after getting my dorsal hump shaved down. I had a small nose with a slight hump and a relatively low tip compared to that, but the hump wasn't really a source of stress for me. I went in for consultation about cartilage suturing because I only wanted to improve the slimmer look from the front and the slightly droopy tip from the side. Looking back, it was really a foolish idea. I mostly consulted with the consultation manager, who kept recommending hump shaving by saying that if I did cartilage suturing, the tip height would go up and create a curve. When I said I didn't really want the hump shaved and asked whether shaving it would lower the overall nose height, they laughed and said it absolutely wouldn't make my nose lower, it would only refine it, and if I didn't do it I'd have to reopen the nostrils later anyway, so why go through that? I stupidly fell for that and had the surgery. The doctor came in about 30 minutes later and touched my nose with his hands, and even now I can't forget the memory of being tormented by the smell of cigarettes. He lifted my nose with a cotton swab to show how much it would rise, but as a result one year after surgery it looks nothing like that. In fact, the cartilage suturing sagged without strength, and my nose became even longer. When seen from the front, the tip looks narrower and longer, and from the side, as the tip gradually drooped, the columella protruded downward even more than before surgery, making the tip look lower and worse. In the end, cartilage suturing did not improve the tip height, and the hump was shaved down excessively. The doctor shaved my originally low tip area and the hump way too much, so the overall result became a low, flat nose. The gray color of the shaved hump area when seen from the front is also stressful.. Now that a year has passed, every time I take side-profile photos and compare them to my original nose, I feel like crying, and if I could only go back to my birth nose, I'd be willing to do anything. Even when I went to famous hospitals for revision consultations through this community, once they saw my original nose, every director said the same thing: my original nose was fine and would have been a pretty nose if they had only raised the tip, and they couldn't understand why they had shaved down the bridge like this and turned it into a straight nose, almost a lion nose. They said the original hump nose was much better than it is now, and that now the unevenly shaved area needs to be refined further and the bridge absolutely must be raised, whether with silicone or fascia. I can't believe I spent almost 2 million won and ended up with an uglier nose^^ I wonder how little responsibility a doctor must have to make a patient's nose like this without thinking about it at all. If they had been honest at the first consultation and said my nose wouldn't benefit from cartilage suturing and that, to match that, they would need to shave the hump a lot, so they should only shave it a little and use ear cartilage or septal cartilage to raise the tip, I would have done that. Or if they had simply stopped recommending hump shaving so insistently, I could at least have ended up with a nose that just didn't benefit from cartilage suturing. Instead, I ended up with a worse result than that, an ugly, low nose, and I'm furious. It only feels like they tricked me into surgery as if I would get the effect of a higher tip from cartilage suturing, and treated me as nothing more than a source of money. And I also wonder whether that consultation manager, who said shaving the hump wouldn't lower the height, would still say the same thing if their own nose were shaved down like this. Even on the day I went for my final follow-up, they still couldn't remember my name and were calling me by another patient's name, saying things like 'that person?'.. Sigh. Outwardly they act like they take responsibility for each patient, but they are only a manager in name; they weren't even visible on the surgery day, and I was deeply disappointed. The biggest disappointment and resentment, though, is toward the doctor. Before and after surgery, this is exactly what another hospital is like, I thought. I sincerely hope no more victims like me ever appear again.
