Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

2 months after bimaxillary surgery at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for malocclusion and facial-contour improvement …

It has been two months since I had bimaxillary surgery. When I first decided to have surgery, I worried so much and was scared too, but looking back now, I think I did the right thing by mustering up the courage. I had malocclusion since childhood, and because of my complex about my face looking long and large, I avoided taking photos. Even when I dieted, my facial shape bothered me, so I always lacked confidence. With my wedding ahead, I desperately wanted to have beautiful wedding photos, so after a long period of consideration, I decided to have surgery. After reading many reviews and looking at surgical experience, I decided to have surgery with Director Shin Hee-jin at EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Right after bimaxillary surgery, it was really hard because of phlegm, nausea, and the suffocating discomfort of difficulty breathing. The pain at the surgical site was not as severe as I expected, but because of phlegm and nasal discharge, I could not sleep properly, and I struggled so much that even swallowing New Care or water was difficult. When I had the wafer in my mouth, my nose was blocked too, so breathing was extremely uncomfortable. The swelling also worsened day by day, and my heart felt heavy every time I looked in the mirror. But after one week passed, things gradually got better. The swelling went down very slowly, and once the wafer was changed to elastics, daily life became much easier. To be honest, suture removal hurt quite a bit, but after that my face felt lighter, and it seemed like the swelling went down a little more. After 1 month from bimaxillary surgery, the discomfort inside my mouth gradually decreased, and daily life became much more comfortable. I was still eating mostly porridge and soft foods, but since I no longer had to wear elastics, it really felt like I could live again. The director also checked my progress carefully and removed the pins without pain, so I felt very grateful. And now, at 2 months, the swelling has not completely gone away yet, but it has become noticeably more natural. There is still slight swelling inside my mouth, but I have almost no discomfort in daily life. As long as I avoid hard or tough foods, I can eat most foods well now. Issues like nasal tip widening and lip curling have also improved a lot compared with the early stage, and the overall facial line has become softer and more natural than before. In particular, the feeling of my lips curling inward has improved much more than at 1 month, so I feel satisfied every time I look in the mirror. I am not fully recovered yet, but now my face is starting to feel familiar, like it is truly mine. Having gone through the difficult period right after bimaxillary surgery and now experiencing the gradual recovery process, I feel like I am erasing my old complexes one by one. I hope to take photos looking my prettiest on my wedding day, and I plan to keep taking good care of myself during the remaining recovery period. I hope this helps even a little for those who are considering bimaxillary surgery. If you have been thinking about it for a long time like I did, I’m sure it will be a choice you won’t regret!
