My first rhinoplasty over ten years ago was done with a closed approach, and I thought it would look pretty only if it was raised as high as possible. Because it was raised very high, the silicone gradually showed through like a chalky nose, my nose looked pinched, and the shape was so overwhelming that I was nicknamed Michael Jackson. A nose that was supposed to become pretty after surgery was not pretty. The foreign-body sensation was so severe that I thought I would never have surgery again, so I only had the silicone removed again and lived like that... But as I kept living, the way I looked in the mirror and in photos looked so unattractive, and I felt my face was gradually losing dimension, so I started wondering whether I should do my nose again... Since my first nose surgery was closed, I had no scar on the columella, so concern about scarring was also one of the reasons I hesitated over nose surgery. But at Lowell, they specialize in scars too, and the advantage of open surgery is that all tissues can be seen at once and corrected directly, so I thought that for me, improving the nose shape might be more important than the scar. Also, because it was a revision surgery, the cost burden was significant. However, Lowell Plastic Surgery offered a reasonable price for revision surgery, and even though they used costal cartilage material + silicone, the price was very kind, so I decided to go ahead. Director Kim Jae-yoon also carefully understood the direction I wanted, kindly explained solutions to various risks, and I liked it, so I decided to have surgery. Before, my nose was short, the nostrils showed, and it looked unsophisticated, and I was concerned about nose height, so I chose the custom 3D implant FitMe Nose. Thanks to that, the silicone was placed to fit my nasal bone structure, so it looks natural as if it were originally my own nose, which is so amazing haha. The nasal tip also changed into a natural and refined nose shape with four-layer fixation using donated costal cartilage, so I feel so good. Since I had experienced one failed rhinoplasty, I worried so much about what if it looked too artificial, but the time I spent worrying was a waste! I desperately hoped it would not look pinched from the front, and since the nasal tip is round and not pinched, my expression naturally changed to look much more relaxed haha. Because of this nose surgery, daily life has become more enjoyable, so I am satisfied that it was a worthwhile surgery! It has only been about one month, so I still need to watch the progress, but I hope the nose shape does not change any further from here~ Director Kim Jae-yoon, thank you so much~
