First of all, as someone who values safety + a natural-looking shape that does not look artificial the most, I had almost finalized the [basic points] below, and focused most on 1) whether the clinic gives a “customized” diagnosis suited to my body type and tissue characteristics, and 2) the director’s experience! I honestly do not think consultation with the consultant is that important, so I will mainly write about my consultation with the directors! [Basically finalized points] Implant: Motiva Incision site: armpit Current size: full A - B Desired postoperative cup size: full B - C [Clinic-visit reviews] 1. ㄱㄹ (animal) Director ㅅㅈㅇ A typical factory-style clinic Even though I had made an appointment in advance + arrived earlier than expected, I waited about 1 hour, and it also felt like the staff were not communicating well with each other On top of that, maybe it was a place that is always included in the dermatology + plastic surgery route when foreigners come to Korea, but there were overwhelmingly many foreign tourists.. It was the cheapest clinic when the event price was applied, but because breast augmentation is truly a high-risk surgery that affects your life, I became convinced I could not do it at a place like this, and while waiting I even thought about just going home The director consultation was about 10 minutes, and compared with other clinics, there was nothing that pointed out detailed points about my body type It felt like they just measured the fixed sizes and then decided only the bare minimum: what implant, CC, incision site, and surgical method! 2. ㄷㄷㅂㅇ Director ㄱㅈㅎ Because the director is a breast surgery specialist rather than a plastic surgery specialist, they seemed to have expertise I was told that because my skin thickness and tissue quality are fairly good, subfascial placement would be sufficient without necessarily doing dual-plane! I had generally heard that dual-plane would feel better because it is covered by tissues like fat and muscle, but the director said that because muscle tissue is actually firm, unless someone is extremely thin or has thin skin, the subfascial method, where the implant goes above the muscle, is much closer to a natural feel! The cost was the highest among the clinics I visited, and it felt like there were slightly fewer event prices and such compared with other clinics! 3. ㅅㅇㅇ Director ㅂㅈㅎ The director seemed like a picky + perfectionist type who is extremely attentive, meticulous, and perfection-seeking with each patient 1:1, so I felt I could trust them with the surgery! They even gave the patient a very detailed PT about breast augmentation overall, so I really felt like this is not someone who would perform surgery carelessly!! But overall, rather than the director’s own know-how or experience, there was a lot of mention of things like operating room cleanliness, using all equipment as disposable, and the surgical environment? so I was a little like, huh? I checked how it felt when actually trying on the implants, and among all the clinics I had been to so far, they recommended the largest CC. Since I want a reaaaally natural shape that is not too large, I put it on hold because it felt a little different from the direction I am pursuing 4. ㅇㅇ Director ㄱㅇㅈ Honestly, since I heard the director had over 20 years of experience and had performed more than 10,000 cases, I did not expect a detailed consultation But it gave me trust that they pointed out small points specific to my body type, such as the degree of breastbone protrusion and asymmetry, etc.! I also liked that they provided one free lifelong AS, and the postoperative care system seems to be well organized! Honestly, the director must be extremely busy, but I remember the consultation time being quite long. I liked that the process included a short PT about their own surgical know-how + measurement of fat and muscle thickness with a simple ultrasound + body type analysis after size measurements + fitting, and that I went through this entire process together with the director But after visiting other clinics, I found that because my tissue quality is on the good side and the skin thickness around my breasts is quite substantial, there were some places that recommended subfascial rather than dual-plane. So when I said I wanted subfascial instead of the triple-plane method the director advocates, they did not exactly readily say okay, so I am still thinking about it! 5. ㄷㅌ Director ㅇㅈㅇ Actually, while consulting at other clinics, I had heard that this clinic would definitely push hybrid + subfascial, so I did not have high expectations But after the director looked at my skin and tissue characteristics, they recommended that dual-plane would be possible too, but rather than taking on the risk of cutting the muscle unnecessarily, wouldn’t subfascial be better? They did not particularly mention hybrid to me, so it really seemed like they recommend what fits your own body type and specs! They also have a 3D virtual surgery system, which was very helpful for reference! But they were the only one to mention Motiva Mini.. Honestly, I had never thought about Mini, and I had heard on YouTube that when Mini is placed upright, it does not become like a teardrop shape but has a slightly flat feeling, so after hearing about Mini, I became a bit unsure But they said this clinic uses Motiva Mini the most among single-doctor clinics, so personally I wonder if this is the director’s conviction..? As I saw in other reviews too, I understood what people meant when they said the director tends to have a strong personal view! 6. ㄱㄹ (not animal) Director ㅇㅈㅇ Rather than explaining in detail, it felt like they only told me what was really necessary The consultation felt somewhat insincere to me, so I did not feel trust! Since the director consultation was very short, to mention what I discussed with the consultant, the consultant and other staff said they also had it done here and actually showed me their breasts, but they looked too big, and to me they seemed a bit saggy. So I got the impression that rather than a suitable size + slightly firm feel that I want, this clinic would be more suitable for people who want a large size! [What I felt after visiting clinics] 1. No matter how cheap an event price they offer, definitely rule out factory-style clinics + clinics where the director consultation is not detailed! 2. Check whether the postoperative care system is well organized (some clinics support one lifelong AS, so check this too!) 3. Since there is almost no clinic that does not Photoshop review photos, instead of going based on review photos, choose a clinic that gives a body-type diagnosis just for you + a clinic with a similar aesthetic goal These are the three things I felt. Since breast augmentation is truly a very important surgery with major risks, I am planning to visit about two more clinics, ㅇㅇㅇ and ㄴㅌ, going forward The more clinics you visit, the more you realize things like, ah, that clinic recommended this because this is the method they push.. or they recommended a size bigger than what I want because they want to get pretty review photos.. I have already decided on my current No. 1 in my mind, but I plan to visit two more places and then finalize it before surgery! I hope this helps everyone even a little!
