#4 Square jaw / cheekbone surgery (scalp incision) 1 month later (male) …

It’s almost hard to believe how fast time has gone, but it’s already been a month!!! I’m posting the one-month photo without covering my eyes^^ First, I’ll share how I’m feeling right now (I stopped checking the day-by-day changes after a while^^) ★ How the surgical areas feel one month after surgery - Sensation in the jaw area: left side has recovered to about 80%, right side to about 55% (the right side seems to be recovering a bit more slowly than the left) - Lumpy feeling around the jaw: on the left there’s only a very small amount left, almost gone now; on the right it feels like it’s going down about a week later than the left (I’m not sure whether it’s a lump or healing tissue, but it makes things feel a bit tight --> this tightness seems to gradually ease over time) - Overall condition around the jaw: I’m not sure if it’s just very slight residual swelling or healing tissue, but when my family looks at me they say I still seem a bit swollen, so I think there are still changes left to come (I think it’s probably healing tissue or hardened tissue) - Sensation around the cheekbones: here too, sensation has recovered to about 50% on both sides - Healing tissue around the cheekbones: compared with right after waking up on the day of surgery, it now feels like the cheekbones haven’t actually shrunk (I think it’s healing tissue. Right after surgery, when I looked in the mirror, the side cheekbones and front cheekbones looked gone.) --> Right now it looks like both the side cheekbones and front cheekbones are still there, but at about half of their previous size - Pain around the cheekbones: until a few days ago there was still a bit of throbbing with a tingling sensation, but now I don’t feel anything; only a slightly tight feeling remains from the healing tissue, etc. (Based on my experience of the pain and tightness around the jaw gradually disappearing, I expect this tightness will also go away once the healing tissue does) - Scalp condition and overall care: right now I can wash my hair very comfortably, rubbing it as hard as usual. Hair shedding feels only a tiny bit more than before surgery. The surgical area still has a slight tingling sensation, but it’s very mild, like the kind of tingling you feel while a wound is healing (the scalp wound seems to have healed very well. I’m planning to go get a haircut after day 20) ★ Satisfaction and assessment after surgery - As the swelling goes down and the healing tissue becomes visible, the cheekbones still seem to be there, both front and side, but even so they look improved compared with before surgery, and although I think there is still healing tissue around the jaw, I’m very satisfied with my jaw right now - People around me often say my face has gotten smaller, and people who saw me for the first time after surgery say my face looks softer (some people who aren’t very observant don’t even realize I had surgery) - People who didn’t know me at all had no idea I had surgery, but sometimes they do ask, "Did you maybe have nose surgery?" - Satisfaction with my condition now: I’m extremely satisfied with the surgery. The cheekbones may still seem to be there because of the healing tissue, but since I’ve always thought it would be fine if I still had a little cheekbone, I have no complaints at all; I just hope it keeps improving a bit more. I’m very satisfied with my jaw. Because of the surgery, I’m extremely happy with my side profile, and with my front view I just hope it improves a little more. According to the director, I’ll be able to see about a 10% change every month, and since I think it will keep changing, I’m really looking forward to it^^ Recovery seems really fast, and after day 7 I’ve been out and about every day, so people around me seem to think this is a very easy surgery. It’s amazing that a month has already passed; time really seems to be flying by. Next month I plan to travel for about 10 days, and starting tomorrow I also plan to go back to the gym. (Because I haven’t been eating well, I’ve lost both muscle and fat, and my pants are extremely loose;;;) Thinking about it now, it makes me wonder how I even managed to go through that surgery, but everything went well and I’m recovering well too, so I’m grateful to the director. I’ll keep posting photos once a month to show the changes^^
