I’ll speak casually!
I had previously written a review after going around for consultations, and after that I only replied to comments as they came in, then gradually stopped coming in. But comments are still being posted there, so I came back to leave a final review.
To briefly write about my previous post,
I was looking into nose implant removal surgery, and heard in this community that there were three clinics famous as the “top 3,” so I had consultations at all three places, and among them, I had the removal surgery at ㄱㅇㅅ, which I trusted the most. Among the three, it was the most expensive, but this isn’t something to save money on. That said, it wasn’t 2-3 times more expensive or anything like that.
I don’t remember it well now, but to explain my situation roughly.. (If you look at my old post, it’s probably more detailed.. haha...) It had been over 10 years since my nose surgery (4-5 mm silicone, ear cartilage), and I always had a foreign-body sensation and discomfort. And since last year, it felt like I could see my nasal tip gradually lifting, so when I went in, they said contracture had already started. So I decided to remove the silicone and ear cartilage inside my nose, which I had been putting off out of fear, and had the surgery before spring came this year. Since there was contracture-related inflammation, of course they removed the capsule, and I think they also grabbed and tied the existing alar cartilage at the nasal tip because it had been compressed.
It was a bit of a careless way to think, but... Honestly, if we search hard, we may be able to find things out, but the internet has so many different facts and personal opinions being stated as if they were established facts, and so on, that I thought it would be hard to read everything and distinguish only the truth from it all, so part of me also went in thinking, since he’s a veteran, he’ll do a good job..
I heard the surgery went well. I had sedation anesthesia. They said the silicone was twisted.. I don’t know how it got like that either.. hahaha And they said they couldn’t find the ear cartilage even after looking. I had heard during another hospital consultation that if inflammation occurs, ear cartilage can dissolve, so I think that’s probably why it wasn’t visible.
After surgery, as soon as I got home, I was told it shouldn’t touch water, so I wiped my face with a wet towel and showered with warm water.... (The disinfectant smell on my face was so awful I couldn’t stand it..) I only did cold compresses briefly on the first day and didn’t really keep doing them, so the bruising spread down to my cheeks. For about a month? I lived with light green and yellow bruises. Everyone who is thinking of doing this, please use my review as a reference and take good care of yourself..
Afterward, I went 2-3 times for postoperative care, and after about a month, I consistently massaged my nose by hand for about 10 minutes a day so it would soften.
And recently, when it had finally been about 4 months, I went for my last checkup, and the director said I don’t need to come anymore. It felt somehow liberating.
!! Speaking from my current situation 4 months later,
Until about the first 2 and a half months, I thought the nasal bridge had gotten lower and somewhat blunt, but as more time passed and I kept looking, maybe that had been swelling too, because it isn’t blunt anymore. It’s just a bit lower, but it looks much more natural.
And the nasal tip shape came back down. I didn’t have anything done to reshape the nasal tip, but overall it just seems to have returned to my original nose. Honestly, it was over 10 years ago, so I don’t remember exactly what my original nose looked like, but everyone says it’s more natural and much better, and asks why I ever had surgery. And most people don’t even know what changed unless I tell them I had surgery.....
However, even before surgery, my alar cartilage was compressed and protruded a bit inside my nostril. Right after surgery, I don’t think I felt cartilage protruding inside the nostril, but I guess I couldn’t feel it because of the swelling. Now, when I touch it again, it does protrude a little. Recently, when I went to the hospital for the last time, I told the doctor, and it turns out it’s not really a big problem.. So I just accepted it.. Because of my careless attitude, I didn’t clearly pin this down and move past it, but it really doesn’t seem to be a big issue.. The causes that triggered inflammation have already all been removed, and to have surgery again just to tuck in one slightly protruding piece of cartilage that bothers me when I pick my nose... the time and cost... would be a waste.
Other than that, I can make a pig nose well now, and even when something touches my nose, I have no foreign-body sensation or discomfort at all, so I’m living very satisfied.
I’m writing this final review of nose removal surgery because I think there are many people worrying and wondering whether they should get their nose implant removed or not. I went through that period too. So what I really wanted to say is, of course you should look at the things you need to be careful about, but beyond that, I don’t think you need to look only at overly negative information. People who did well don’t really come in here much anymore. I was like that too. During the recovery process after surgery, I also stopped looking because I thought coming into this community and seeing bad posts for no reason would just make me worry more, and since I got better, there was no need to look things up.....
From everyone’s perspective, it would be more reassuring to see reviews saying things went well after some time had passed, but since there aren’t many reviews like that, I thought you might feel anxious. Mine isn’t a review from over a year later either, but I’m still leaving one. I hope it helps even a little!
