After <1 month after surgery, front view> After <1 month after surgery, 45-degree view> I had my dorsal hump and nasal tip done. Originally, before surgery, they said they would do osteotomy, but afterward they said they only shaved it down. I think they said my nasal bones were large.
But when I look from the front or side, the bridge looks spread out, so I’m really disappointed.. I’m satisfied with the tip thoughㅜ
But when I went to the clinic at week 2, they said it was swelling. I feel like I’m the type whose swelling goes down quickly, and when I touch it, it’s just hard like bone.. Is this really swelling? I hope it is swelling..
If it’s not swelling, I think I’ll keep thinking about revision surgery.. I wanted the bridge to look clean and straight, but I wonder if this was the best possible outcome given my nasal bone conditionㅜ
+ I also had functional nose surgery done together, but the amount of air coming in through each nostril is different too ㅠ
------------ (+Edit: added one-month follow-up appointment) I went for my appointment today and took photos. Comparing it with week 2, it definitely sticks out less now. The doctor said they still can’t confirm whether it’s bone or fibrous tissue, so for now I should wait until 3 months, and if it doesn’t go down, get an injection, and if it still hasn’t gone down by 6 months, they can shave the hump down more with a closed approach.
Still, they explained it while comparing the photos and told me the possible solutions too, so I feel much better.
Honestly, before surgery I just prayed that nothing major would go wrong, but once you actually get it done, I guess you can’t help noticing the parts you’re disappointed with. Still, people around me have been saying I look better, so for now I’m satisfied.
As an aside, they said there are patients who ask to have a little bit of the hump left for a natural look. It depends on how each person takes it, but I felt better anyway lol
Anyway, the part where the hump sticks out a bit apparently isn’t that noticeable to other people unless I point it out. So I decided to wait, like the doctor said.
Thanks everyone for the concerned comments! I’ll write a proper review again at 3 months and 6 months~!
