Day 2 after surgery. To briefly write down what I remember, yesterday I went in at 10 a.m. I had another in-person consultation with the consultant, and we reconfirmed which areas would be operated on. They told me my iron was low in the blood test I had before and that I had signs of anemia. (They gave me an iron injection during recovery.) After that, with a staff member, I had my blood pressure and InBody measured, took photos, and designed the surgical areas with the director. The operating room is set up separately on the upper floor, and the recovery room is on the same floor too. The operating room wasn’t as cold as I expected, but once I took off my clothes and got on the operating table, I suddenly realized, “Ah, I’m really getting liposuction.” When I was actually lying down and they were applying disinfectant to my upper body, that was when I felt really cold. They applied a huge amount of disinfectant. There were about 4-5 operating room staff, and they were all focused hard on preparing for surgery, so even though I was scared right before surgery, I felt a little reassured. But still, since it was my first time getting liposuction, I felt like a pig being butchered, and I was so scared that I kept saying, “Please take good care of me.” Even the moment they covered my face with a sheet, I asked them to please keep me safe. Before surgery, I was so scared, but when I woke up, it was already past 3 p.m. I seriously slept so well. As soon as I woke up, I should have asked them to give me painkillers (it felt like I had been beaten up), but I just stayed in pain and dazed for 30-40 minutes. After getting painkillers twice, once I came to my senses, I pushed myself and left. I live in Gyeonggi, so I wanted to avoid rush hour and sit on the subway home;; (If you’re about to have surgery, even if it costs money and there’s traffic, just take a taxi...) There were 5 recovery rooms? Or maybe more, and they don’t force you to leave before you’re ready. When I pressed the bell, a staff member came to care for me, changed my IV, and so on. Since I had upper-body liposuction and had no strength in my hands, they picked up my phone charger and wallet that I dropped.. haha They said I could go home only if I had recovered enough to stand on my own for more than 5 or 10 minutes, but I was in a hurry, so I left as quickly as possible. I pushed myself to leave so I could get on the subway before rush hour, and then, oh no. I was sitting on the subway and got orthostatic hypotension, so I almost fainted. Before I completely blacked out, I got off the subway car I was in, lay straight down on a chair outside, and nearly lost consciousness. After I came to and tried to stand up to go home again, the hypotension came again, so I lay down once more. With orthostatic hypotension, you absolutely have to lie down. After that, I was fine, and I think I got home before 7. As soon as I got home, I took off my clothes and looked in the mirror, and I was so, so shocked. I never imagined this kind of line would be possible for me. Even though I was wrapped in bandages and covered in bruises, I looked at myself in the mirror and was amazed. And this morning, I removed the bandages, and I’m honestly so satisfied.. I followed a friend’s lead, booked a consultation without doing any online or in-person research, and because the consultations with the consultant and director and the surgery price were okay, I think I got the surgery after only about a week and a half. It made me think I wish I had done this good thing when I was a bit younger. They said the swelling would get worse from day 2, so I took as many photos as I wanted this morning, and until the swelling goes down, I think I’ll have to diligently disinfect, stretch, and exercise. In the morning, the hospital did a happy call, a follow-up phone call the day after surgery, and when I told them I had a slight fever, they said it was a common symptom and would probably last a few days. Anyway, even now on the evening of day 2, I still have a slight fever and keep having diarrhea. I want to recover quickly and start exercising again. I was planning to go to Pilates starting tomorrow, but I think that would be too much.
