Is cartilage binding required in revision rhinoplasty?

In a standard nose operation, cartilage suturing, fat removal, and things like that are done as a basic part!! For any nose!! It only differs by how aggressive the technique is!!!

[@] I really had no idea at all ㅜㅜ Then the cartilage binding done during the first nose/dorsum surgery and the one used during revision correction must be different, right..? I never even thought that I’d already had cartilage binding, so I was hoping that adding it now would make the tip much narrower/sharper… but finding out it was already done in the first surgery was such a shock... ㅜㅜ

[@트랄랄랼] They said tying the cartilage higher doesn’t make it sharper, it can even become a pinched-tip shape. What did they use on your first surgery? If you want revision correction to be reliable, there’s basically no other option than raising the tip higher with rib cartilage.

[@] In my first surgery, they put in a dorsal silicone implant, tip support from septal cartilage and Medpor for support without explaining at all ㅜㅜ The tip itself wasn’t that droopy, but the nose is still puffy,, At the first hospital I visited, they said my case wasn’t for alar reduction and thought raising the tip a bit and doing cartilage binding should be enough, but the second hospital said to do alar reduction...

[@트랄랄랼] I think it would be better not to do alar reduction; instead, use rib cartilage to raise the tip higher than now and re-do cartilage binding!!

[@] Even the second doctor said, if the nostrils are small, maybe do a little alar reduction… sort of vaguely. At first consult, the director immediately talked about materials and alar reduction, so I was like, "huh?" But after hearing everyone here, I became even more certain. Thank youuuuuu!!!!! Donor rib would be okay too, right?!!!

[@] If donor rib can be used fully and strongly, then ㅎㅎ I didn’t use septal cartilage at all and only used donor rib plus ear cartilage.

[@] I just got around to reading the comments ㅜ Did you use only one donor rib??!! How long has it been? Is it holding up well?? ㅜㅜ
