Please refer to the attached photos. I wrote this as detailed as possible because I wanted to help others who are considering consultations, and I also wanted to hear other people’s opinions while deciding on a hospital myself. It’s going to be long, so I’ll write in a casual style!
1. Clinic name: JSS Consulting doctor: Dr. SJSH Consultation fee: None Surgery method: Nose - open / custom silicone + septal extension + ear cartilage + alar reduction Eyes - non-incisional + ptosis correction Surgery cost: 5.15 million > 4.95 million won Discount details: same-day reservation discount + referral discount Surgery time: 2-3 hours Consultation order: consultation manager > doctor > consultation manager Consultation details: They took a CT and showed me the image with a virtual rhinoplasty system. Because the virtual system had an error that day, the image consultation was done through KakaoTalk. The doctor explained the surgical method and materials with a lot of confidence. The doctor did not recommend any extra procedures and only looked at the areas I was concerned about. The consultation manager recommended eye surgery, so I had an additional consultation. I have mild ptosis, but no eyelid fat and thin skin, so they said my eyes are the kind that do well no matter where surgery is done. After the consultation and virtual surgery image review, they send everything on KakaoTalk, so there’s no worry about forgetting details or price changes. They said that even after nose surgery there is no nasal packing, swelling is not very bad, and after one week the splint can come off and normal daily life is possible. They showed many before-and-after photos of people who had the same surgical methods as mine. They kept recommending custom silicone and repeatedly mentioned the drawbacks of carving. All the staff at the desk had surgery there themselves and showed their before-and-after photos, which made it feel a little more trustworthy. There was no explanation about aftercare. They said ptosis correction has lifelong after-service, so if it loosens, they’ll fix it again anytime.
2. Clinic name: NJR Consulting doctor: Dr. GCHY Consultation fee: None. If you want a CT scan, there is an extra 20,000 won charge; if not, they only take photos with a camera. Surgery method: Nose - closed / silicone + septal extension + ear cartilage + alar reduction + bridge reduction Surgery cost: 5.00 million Discount details: Partial photo sharing; I don’t remember the normal price Surgery time: 2-3 hours Consultation order: consultation manager > doctor (consultation manager) > consultation manager Consultation details: They said that because it’s a semi-hump nose, the bridge absolutely has to be reduced. They said they would design the nose image on the day of surgery, but I couldn’t predict what it would look like. The doctor did not explain the materials or detailed surgical method, only roughly drew on photos while looking at the design. The consultation manager only talked as if, because it was closed surgery, there would be no side effects and no inflammation. No explanation about aftercare. No mention of after-service.
3. Clinic name: CHW Consulting doctor: Dr. HJY Consultation fee: CT scan 20,000 won Surgery method: Nose - open / septal extension + ear cartilage added if needed, bridge reduction or silicone + alar reduction Eyes - non-incisional + ptosis correction Surgery cost: I remember it as around 5.30 million > 4.10 million won Discount details: eye and nose surgery promotion + reviews on a beauty forum + progress reviews + partial photo disclosure Surgery time: 3 hours Consultation order: consultation manager > doctor > consultation manager Consultation details: They kept checking the size that would allow the nasal tip to be raised by moving the nose with a cotton swab. They said they could make the shape however I wanted, natural or glamorous, as preferred. They did not recommend raising the glabella. They said the brow bone is developed rather than the glabella being low, and that in their opinion I could do fine even without implants, so they did not recommend it, but would do it if I wanted. For the amount of nostril show from the front, autologous tissue grafting is possible, but they said it should be fine if the tip is lowered while being lifted, and that alar reduction alone would be enough. They said double-eyelid lines could be inline or in-out line, and I should choose whichever I wanted. The consultation manager said this is the doctor the clinic is currently pushing and that because it’s part of the promotion they’d give a big discount. They said they give a discount for photo reviews, but they would edit the photos themselves, so I should take them with a normal camera without filters. The idea that the clinic would do the editing felt a bit odd, and it made me think that all the beauty-forum reviews are probably like that. For aftercare, they said they handle swelling every time I come in and continuously care for inflammation, etc. They kept strongly saying that if I book with Dr. HJY, they would include skin care too. There is a price advantage compared with other clinics, but even searching extensively, there are almost no reviews for this doctor; even the ones that exist are only about alar reduction or eyes, so that made me hesitate more. After-service for 1 year.
4. Clinic name: YBR Consulting doctor: Dr. GDY Consultation fee: 10,000 won Surgery method: Nose - custom silicone + ear cartilage support + nasal cartilage rearrangement Eyes - non-incisional + ptosis correction Surgery cost: 6.94 > 6.16 million won Discount details: partial photo disclosure Surgery time: 3 hours Consultation details: From the start of the consultation, they spoke kindly, saying I came on the weekend and must be tired. They said my septum is small, so they can hardly use it; they would build a pillar with ear cartilage, and nasal cartilage rearrangement would slightly improve the nostrils being visible from the front. They said they would remove a little septum, attach it to the alar cartilage, and then place it on top to even out the step. It’s not a completely hump nose, but because the glabella and nose tip are separated, it looks like a hump nose, so custom silicone is essential. They said just raising the nasal tip can have the effect of reducing the alar width, so alar reduction is not necessary. When making the custom silicone, I would revisit and redesign it with the doctor. They asked me to definitely bring a celebrity nose image that I want. They said in any case it can’t change drastically from my original structure and they can’t make me a celebrity’s nose, but they would reflect the general image I want as much as possible. It was the first time I heard that my nose axis is twisted, and they said I need to think about which 기준 to set it to. After-service for 1 year.
Right now, in my mind, I’m leaning toward JSS > YBR > CHW. JSS is famous for revision surgery, and I liked that it offers lifelong after-service. YBR attracts me because they said it can improve the nostrils visible from the front, but it’s also the most expensive, and the surgical method is different from the other clinics, so I’m not sure whether it’s the right method for me. CHW definitely has the price advantage, but I’m really worried because there are so few reviews. The doctor has quite a lot of experience, so I keep wondering why there are so few reviews. I’ve also seen a lot of people say not to do surgery at a clinic that gives promotional discounts, so I feel a bit resistant.
