I normally had a hump, and my nasal tip pointed downward, so from the front, my nose looked blunt and my overall impression looked dull, which made me decide to get rhinoplasty. I didn’t want a big change, and I wanted surgery only to correct the hump and lift the nasal tip. Since it was a large hospital, it felt like the examinations were systematic, and the fact that they use general anesthesia made me feel they had that much confidence in safety, so I chose this place. In reality, there were many people in the operating room, and everyone had their own assigned role, so I strongly felt that things were running systematically, which made me comfortable receiving the surgery and coming out. Because it was a plastic surgery clinic, I had imagined a small operating room, but the actual facilities were comparable to an operating room in a general hospital, so it felt trustworthy. Under-eye fat repositioning was done under sedation, and the rhinoplasty was done under general anesthesia. At first, the director came in and under-eye fat repositioning began. Toward the end, I woke up slightly and saw the director’s face, and after that they proceeded with general anesthesia and performed the rhinoplasty. Actually, during that time, there was a little pain from the under-eye fat repositioning, but they soon proceeded with general anesthesia, so it was about enough to forget it. After rhinoplasty, since it was hump surgery, the bridge of my nose throbbed, and I had heat and a feeling of blood rushing at the nasal tip? Also, a heavy, sore feeling continued, and the dull sensation kept going. Even that was bearable because I felt relieved that the surgery was over, and compared with how worried I had been before surgery, anxious that there might be major pain, it was only minor pain, so I felt more relieved that it was over and was satisfiedㅎㅎ At 1 week after surgery, safety came first and safety came second, so I tried not to touch it as much as possible and focused on recovery. When I walked to reduce swelling, it felt like pressure was being applied to my nose, so I tried to sit as much as possible. For eating too, I mainly ate foods that didn’t require moving my mouth, so the skin wouldn’t be pulled. Week 2 after surgery I could feel that the area around my nose had recovered a lot more than in week 1, and the pulling sensation when eating or talking had decreased a lot, so I ate regular food but cut it into small pieces. Still, I still have a pulling sensation, so just in case it strains the nasal tip, I’m minimizing smiling and facial expressions as much as possible. During surgery, a large scab formed on the left side of my nose, so there was difficulty when removing the stitches. I’m still in the scar recovery period, so breathing feels different on both sides, but I think this will also get better once I recover enough and the scab falls off. After surgery, more than anything, the hump was gone, and for the columella area that I had emphasized, I asked for it not to be straight but rounded, and for the nasal tip not to be sharp and high, but natural and rounded. The director listened well to my requests. I didn’t want my nostril wings or bones touched, so they weren’t touched, and only the areas I wanted improved naturally from my original nose shape, so I was very happy❤ Since I didn’t want a lot of change just because I was getting rhinoplasty, I was grateful that he listened to my wishes, and I hope the nasal tip doesn’t drop even after a few years and holds up well!
