In March 2025, I had 3-way lateral canthoplasty surgery at a clinic specializing in lateral canthoplasty 1. Surgical consultation The director showed me predicted after-surgery photos using my before photos, so it was easier to understand. I knew my eyes could not be widened very much, so I trusted him more because he was honest with me. We decided to proceed with surgery with the goal of making my upturned eyes look gentler and giving them a more open look than before 2. Surgical recovery After the stitches were removed, the swelling went down quickly. Applying eye ointment and putting in eye drops was bothersome, but there was no major discomfort. However, when the stitches were removed, it really hurt ㅠㅠ My eyes welled up with tears ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I think it took roughly about a month for all the swelling to go down. There is still some redness even now, 3 months later, but it is not very noticeable 3. Surgery review Because the outer corners of my eyes were narrow, I did not expect much. I knew there was not much room to widen them ㅠㅠ I just hoped they would be opened naturally, and I am so satisfied because they widened them as much as possible within a natural range. Also, for some reason, I heard more comments saying the surgery turned out well starting about one month after surgery rather than immediately after surgery hehe. I do not know if it is because they settled into place or what The price of lateral canthoplasty was on the expensive side compared with other places, but I decided because I was told the director has a unique lateral canthoplasty method that does not reattach. And I am really satisfied. Since they could not be widened dramatically, the change is not dramatic, but I like that they changed naturally. I recommend it
