I had Megaderm (nasal bridge) + septal cartilage (nasal tip) removed.. The reason was purely cosmetic dissatisfaction! I thought my glabella and nasal bridge were higher than I expected and didn’t suit me, and I’d had that thought ever since the splint after my first surgery..^^ Even after removing the splint from my first surgery, I told myself, “It must be swelling..^^” and it was true that there was swelling, but the overall line didn’t change, so honestly, from after my first surgery until right before removal, I was never satisfied even once. I think I kept rationalizing it every time I looked at my nose because it was hard to actually go through with removal (+ it was hard to admit to myself that my choice had been wrongㅠ)..ㅎㅎ Since I know how much emotional distress people considering removal go through every day, I’m leaving this review.. Every single review is so precious..ㅠ In my opinion, the nasal bridge itself may not have been placed that high (the previous hospital also said I did have some nasal bridge, so they didn’t recommend adding to the bridge, but I just went ahead with it, so I have nothing more to sayㅠ) but the way I felt was.. ● As the nasal bridge rose, it felt like the cheekbone area also lifted with it ● As the nose became more prominent, the cheekbones also became more prominent ● The nasolabial folds also became more noticeable ● The philtrum looked longer ● It looked like I had a protruding mouth I think those were the issues.. (100% personal opinion) It may not have actually been that way, but after doing my nose, those things stood out, so as you can see from my previous posts, I worried a lot about facial contouring & orthodontic correction too, and went to several consultations haha Now I’ll move on to my nose removal consultation reviews (in chronological order) I only went to hospitals famous for removal. ----6 months after first surgery---- 0. First consultation at the surgery hospital (I went right as soon as 6 months had passed after my first surgery) - They said they would make it like my original nose! They seemed confident, so they felt trustworthy. - Since I also went exactly at the 6-month mark, I thought maybe they could remove it cleanly.. so I kept postponing surgery > As expected, I didn’t have the confidence to actually take action on the surgery, so I kept rationalizing and only let time passㅠ ----1 year to 1 year and a half passed---- 1. Hospital A - Megaderm removal.. Looking at the CT, it seems to have already been absorbed, so removal may not be easy. - But they said they would scrape it out as much as possible > From this point, I realized the seriousness and started seriously going for removal consultations 2. Hospital B - Likewise, they said the Megaderm had already been absorbed, so it would probably be better not to do surgery > So we didn’t even talk about surgery, and there was no paymentㅠ > Starting here too, I felt it was very serious, so from the first floor of the hospital building I immediately booked Hospital 0 (the surgery hospital) again 3. Hospital C (was on my consideration list) - They said Megaderm removal is possible, and showed me well with a device how the Megaderm was settled in place. - From here, I felt very relievedㅠ Thank you, doctor > Added to my consideration list 4. Hospital D (was on my consideration list) - They said Megaderm removal is possible. They had plenty of experience, and unlike some reviews, they also answered my questions really well, so I liked it. - They felt extremely trustworthy, and I felt relieved againㅠ > Added to my consideration list 5. Surgery hospital again - It is true that Megaderm removal cannot be done perfectly cleanly. But let’s aim to return as much as possible to the original nose. > After the consultation, I thought about it for 1 week, then scheduled the surgery date about 2 weeks after that (Because I agonized a lot among the hospitals on my consideration list, I think which hospital you choose is a personal judgment) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <Surgery review> From the first day of surgery to the third day, even while I was extremely swollen, I think I was satisfied from the time the splint was on.. As soon as they opened it, they took photos of my nose, the implants they removed from me, and my opened-nose photo after removal and showed them all to me. It seemed like my Megaderm had barely been absorbed compared to what I expected..! There was one very large piece still there as an intact mass. I could definitely feel that the nasal bridge and glabella, which had been my concerns, were naturally lowered, and I feel like the softer impression like my original nose has returned, so the year and a half of emotional distress feels like a dreamㅎㅎ It’s about 90% similar to my original nose, but personally I’m even more satisfied..! I was going to upload photos now too.. but I’m still embarrassed to post photos in such a public place, so I’ll hold back Absolutely not a broker X (you’ll know if you look at my previous posts), no hospital review discount X (I didn’t even receive a review discount) I’m just writing this happily because I know how anxious people are when removing things (especially Megaderm, since there aren’t many removal reviews but there are many rumors that removal is difficult..)! I’d appreciate it if comments could be as public and with real names as much as possible, and please ask me the hospital name by private message!! (There seems to be a rule on the review board that hospital names should be shared by private message..!?)
