I had come once before for a Botox injection, and since I thought skin Botox was a simple procedure, I chose a place with good value. The side of my marionette/nasolabial area was what bothered me most, so they focused mainly on that area. For aftercare, they just briefly put on gauze and ended without applying anything. Even before, I had skin Botox experience at another place, and they had given calming care, so when no moisturizer was applied despite there being no other care, I was a little surprised. Since I was being pulled by stress, I asked the caregiver if there was anything to apply, and she said there was lotion at the desk. When I was about to leave, the caregiver suddenly rushed out and said, "Don’t apply lotion or sunscreen; apply a moisturizer at home." A lot of foreign caregivers were there, and I felt they weren’t very professional. Later, facial asymmetry appeared. When I smiled, only one side of my mouth did not rise. People said it looked strange. It became exactly this expression when I tried to smile, like actor Lee Ji-hye’s crying acting video. I waited thinking it would heal with time, but it did not improve at all. Since people around me kept asking why it was like this, I was very stressed and visited the clinic. No matter what, if it had been done correctly, either both sides should not move or both sides should move; I think if only one side doesn’t move, the injection was placed incorrectly. When I asked the cause, they said either too much Botox was placed on one side or the Botox effect was simply too strong there, and that this is not a side effect. They said they themselves didn’t really notice the asymmetry. They gave me high-frequency massage and I left. I have only the absurd memory of them saying there’s no issue and that it’s because the Botox effect is too strong. They said it won’t resolve immediately and will improve with time, so I am just waiting.
