Breast Surgery Reviews

3 weeks after surgery~ The texture feels soft and pillowy

I also used to lurk here every day and ended up having surgery in May. Very recklessly.. I’m leaving this review in case there’s anyone worried about textured implants. I hope it helps. First of all, since I’m a working adult, I decided on textured implants that don’t require massage. I went into a bunch of popular plastic surgery communities on Daum/Naver, plus this community, and searched through them carefully every day... From what I saw, smooth implants involve making the pocket larger, so the movement is a bit better, but depending on the surgeon’s skill, if the pocket is made incorrectly, the implant can ride up as high as the collarbone, wobble unevenly left and right, or even rotate toward the side, and most importantly, because the pocket has to be kept open, if that isn’t maintained properly, capsular contracture can still happen even 3 years later.. hmm... And after looking at many capsular contracture cases, 99.9% of them seemed to happen with smooth implants. (even in submuscular placements) I was so worried about contracture that I even read U.S. papers and while those papers said that for submuscular placement, the capsular contracture rate does not differ greatly between smooth and textured implants, in the end a paper is not a fact, it’s just a probability.. who knows how things will change 10 years from now. From everything I looked up, Koreans usually don’t have much breast tissue, so the procedure is done almost under the muscle, and even so, smooth implants had far more capsular contracture cases. Everyone says, “It won’t happen to me,” and that’s how they start, but later they end up with no way out and have to get revision surgery, or just live with those breasts and suffer mentally, and seeing that made me lose all desire for it. Also, textured implants are newer and more expensive (I asked at ㅁㄱ too, and textured was way more expensive;;) and they say only surgeons with real skill can do textured implants well, but the hospital I went to does a lot of smooth implants too, and they said these days they do almost only textured ones, so I trusted the director and went with that. 1. Surgery to day 7 This was really hard. Even lying down and getting up was hard, moving was hard too, and from the day of surgery until the third day I couldn’t eat anything and kept throwing up.. Around day 6, I could get up without putting that heavy pressure on my chest. Before that, lying down and getting up hurt so much and was so difficult. At night I kept regretting over and over why I had done this, and I couldn’t sleep deeply, so I woke up countless times at night. 2. 1 to 2 weeks after surgery After passing the 1-week mark, I was able to go about daily life, but I still couldn’t fully open my chest, and it felt like someone was pulling hard on my chest? My posture was hunched.. my chest felt sore and there was this pain I can’t quite explain. Like a bruise? But not insanely painful either. I couldn’t exercise and felt really uncomfortable having a body that wasn’t free. The shape was good, but it was still very firm (it had been like that originally too), and because my breasts were somewhat wide apart, I worried every day about whether my cleavage would ever come together. And endless regret... 3. 3 weeks after surgery Daily life, especially the chest soreness when walking, has eased a lot, I’m still not completely back to normal, but it’s really gotten much better. Especially the feel.. Even when I touch it myself, it feels so soft. I wonder if other people who got textured implants also felt this soft around the 3-week mark. At our hospital, they say to start massage after 3 weeks- but I haven’t started the massage they do at the hospital yet. At home I just rub it a little while showering or occasionally when I loosen the compression bandage? But what a massage therapist does is really different. I only learned how it’s done before, but it’s a technique that grips just the implant and pushes it along- I could never do it the same way no matter what. Their hand was like a sashimi knife, really sharp and precise (meaning the accuracy was that high). At the hospital they said smooth implants require a boyfriend or husband to push with all their strength, and it has to be done 4 to 5 times a day, for 20 to 30 minutes each time.. Wow... who on earth is supposed to do that? Even if I were resting at home, my mom said she couldn’t do it either Right now even lightly touching it feels really annoying; you’re not supposed to touch the skin itself, but push the implant underneath the muscle. The director said that with smooth implants the feel gets worse over time, while textured implants get better over time, so I’ve just been leaving it alone and it’s comfortable. The shape is also amazingly perfect on both sides, and the inframammary fold is so symmetrical it surprised me!! It’s only been 3 weeks, but when I push with my hands, the cleavage comes together too. ^^ I’m really relieved.. I had surgery because of my cleavage, and I was worried it wouldn’t come together- Even when lying down, it spreads out decently.. (The spreading is definitely more natural with smooth implants because the pocket is made larger) Sometimes when I see posts in this community, there are people who got teardrop implants and when they lie down, they keep exactly the same shape.. then it’s obvious right away. What I wanted was absolutely natural-looking breasts that look natural. Luckily, the director has a lot of breast surgery experience, so they made it spread a little even into the side area my arms touch when I lie down, but the feel when lying down is indeed firm. That said, it doesn’t stick out so blatantly like saying, “I absolutely do not spread” the way ㅈXX before the pocket creation did, so it doesn’t look obvious Even though I had it done very cheaply, I’m satisfied ^^ In the end, price doesn’t matter; what’s important is the doctor-patient fit and trust.. I looked through several communities about plastic surgery complications on Naver, and even people who had surgery at ㅇㄴㄱㅁ and Happy Belly Button ended up completely ruined, with their bodies in shambles, needing transfusions, preparing lawsuits, crying, and so on, and I saw those posts In the end, it feels like there is no such thing as 100% perfection in surgery. My surgery might go well, but I could also be the 0.001% case that gets ruined. I worried for tens of thousands of times before having surgery, and at first it hurt so much and was so hard that I regretted it a lot, but after just 3 weeks, the swelling has gone down a lot and the feel is so good, so I’m happy now If any of you are planning to do it, especially if you’re a student or a working adult, textured seems fine, especially since they say the texture’s feel keeps improving over about a year. It feels too early to be jumping for joy and saying it’s great right now ^^ I think I need to keep taking care of my body and watching how it goes. Even now the shape and feel are good, so what I want now is just not getting capsular contracture.. and, if possible, not rupturing.. that’s the only thing I’m wishing for ^^
